Vitaminizing Element of Name the Game - 04/03/08 10:39 PM
The time has once again arrived to start a new Name The Game thread.
...so many replies, so little space!!! Rules, for those who haven't participated before, the person who is IT gives clues to an Adventure game, the person who guesses correctly becomes IT. This is an ongoing game, relax, guess and enjoy!!!
Bernard is IT, and he started off by providing a visual clue.
Clue #1:
Chrissie has responded:
The Awakened?
A while later....... (Cameron files) Secret at Lochness?
And I'm guessing: Nancy Drew: The Creature of Kapu Cave.

Clue 2 What's behind the dustbin or should I say garbage can?

Hmmm. Trying to think of other messy kitchens besides the ultimate filthy one in Bad Mojo.
I remember a very messy kitchen in Barrow Hill. Don't quite remember a cockroach though. Did I miss it, maybe?
Posted By: old lady
Re: Roving Spirit of Name the Game - 04/05/08 07:27 AM
Well done Becky, you got it.
The cockroach rushed away when you opened the lower cupboard
and the crow flew out from behind the dustbin.
Maybe you'r right and I should have got a takeaway except that I don't have cockroaches and they might

Posted By: Bernard
Re: Roving Spirit of Name the Game - 04/12/08 04:09 PM
This probably too farfetched:
One, two, buckle my shoe is an Agatha Christie novel.
Deserted village, Leathercomb Bay.
The ghost, the ghost of the smuggler. (friendly???)
Evil under the sun.

Chrissie -- I always change the thread title "theme" when we start a new Name the Game thread. This one started out as "Roving Spirit" and I just changed it to "Aesthetic Hardship." There is a relationship between them, believe it or not.

Not Evil Under the Sun Bernard.
Chrissie has narrowed it down to the pertinent clues.

Re: Roving Spirit of Name the Game - 04/12/08 07:14 PM
Chrissie, to clarify, yes Becky had all the pertinent clues correct, then leaned toward the big fat hen. But you went with the
pick up sticks part which is the clue that
"sticks". Call it a joint effort then.
We can play "This Little Piggy" in the cemetery...fun.

We're waiting a long time for Jody now, let's play a little quiz!
Of which song are the above lyrics a part? The name of the singer has to be given too.
This is a screen shot of which adventure?
Remember, there's nothing to be gained this time! The moment Jody is back here, she takes over.

The song must be 'what another year' and the singer must be Johny Logan. Mr. European Song Television Grand Prix...

Wow Shany, I didn't expect that one to be guessed so soon!
Karsten, you're right, Johnny Logan it is.
. A mailbox is just one of the "common themes" I'm afraid.
Making sense of "common themes"? Nobody can do that in one lifetime!
Perhaps Jody is giving us a clue by not giving a clue at all, in that case my guess would be

Re: Roving Spirit of Name the Game - 04/26/08 04:23 PM
sierramindy,
A lot of our members (I gauge around 40%) do not post much but lurks and reads the threads frequently. They only post when they feel they need to. They visit once a week or once a month.
They're here.

Re: Roving Spirit of Name the Game - 04/26/08 09:36 PM
Well, yes, of course, but once a month is not that good for the Name the Game thread, now is it? That's the point I was trying to make.
Posted By: Becky
Re: Roving Spirit of Name the Game - 04/26/08 10:04 PM
Hi Sierramindy -- if Jody knows to check to see if she guessed right, she would check the thread soon after guessing. Maybe she doesn't realize exactly how the game is run.
We'll give her a few more hours and then I'll post a clue if she doesn't.

Sierramindy, you seem to be really depressed! Everyone deserves the the benefit of the doubt, Jody is no exception. Try to get that smile upon your face again. Believe me when I say that I know how hard it can be sometimes. If you want to escape the sameness, you might want to have a look at the infamous Common Theme thread.
Bernard

Re: Roving Spirit of Name the Game - 04/27/08 01:27 AM
What doubt? I know what I know, even when I'm wrong! Are you going to wait a month while being brave and patient?
About the Common Theme thread, I do lurk there a little bit, but find it too weird for my taste. Or maybe too common?

Posted By: Mad
Re: Roving Spirit of Name the Game - 04/27/08 06:56 AM
Hi sierramindy
I didn't see your reply before it was edited .... but what I am referring to by "lightening up" is that the world won't stop if a member doesn't come back to a thread and post right away.
It's probably just a case of "forgetting".
So, good gracious, no need to make a gloomy issue out of it !!
In any case, no one is "obliged" to post. You yourself have chosen not to post in a particular thread because you consider it to be weird or common but others who think quite the opposite won't condemn you for it.
Cheers.

Lady Kestrel

Just out of curiosity what was it that led you onto
Zork: Nemesis, Lady Kestrel?

Re: Roving Spirit of Name the Game - 05/06/08 09:52 PM
When you mentioned getting eaten, the Zork series popped into my mind. I haven't played the game yet, but I remember from screenshots and a reviews that you had to help a ghostly bride. I figured that could have the been love aspect you mentioned. Of course, there's love in
ZGI, too, but it's not exactly spiritual.
This is a clue to a place you visit in the game:

Ok, this next hint it misleading - It's not the game this song appears in.

Re: Roving Spirit of Name the Game - 05/09/08 07:39 PM
My first idea was "flighty temptress." Dumbledore says it in Half Blood Prince:
And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.
The others were quotations I uncovered that also describe "adventure."

I'm pretty sure they chose the subtitle 'Dream of the Turtle' so the acronym would be DOTT.
