I just got this game this weekend myself! I tried to play it when it first came out but it was soooooooooooooooooooooooo slow that I traded it away. Now I gots me a new computer and bought it again from HanksDog! Loving it- very spooky and the graphics are very detailed!

Mad, I can only agree with everyone else--don't play this game at night, especially if you're alone in the house...

However, if you like the feeling of jumping out of your skin....

Don' t play it while eating or drinking - it could kill you!

I AM alone and I DO play at night but I usually keep a soft light on when I'm here in my little computer den.

And after all your warnings, I now have a spare bulb for it right on the shelf above me - not two feet away

I think the atmosphere in this game is fantastic.
Very unsettling.
Reminds me very much of how I felt in the first Phantasmagoria .... On edge most of the time !!

Just wanted to add that I have now finished the game and enjoyed it from start to finish

And I hope these developers are going to give us more adventure games that don't need timed/action/stealth or death sequences to create a scary atmosphere

[And just to confirm .... yep .... my pants are still dry !!

Mad, Agustin (Nucleosys developer) has announced they are working on a new adventure and it will be point and click. They haven't told much about the game yet, just these tidbits:

* It will be a horror first-person adventure
* It will take place in a single location, over the course of one night
* There will be several characters to interact with, as well as many others appearing in various cutscenes
* Your memories will play a very important role in this game

Agustin has promised to come forward with new information over the next few months, so we should hear from them soon!

for the info Pollo, we will all be saving up for their next offering!! Would still like them to clarify the ending though...

I realize this is an older thread but I don't want to start a new one since this one exists.

I just finished "Scratches" about ten minutes ago and I'm STILL feeling a bit shaky. I even used a terrific walk-through for quite a bit of it and it was still a very spooky game. Not for the faint of heart. I really had to talk myself into finishing it.

Are you waiting for the Director's Cut? I played the original version. I won't be getting the DC as I could barely bring myself to finish the original. Such a chicken! I was in a big hurry to finish it during the daylight hours today. And after going out this evening, I just had to walk from my car back to my apartment all alone in the dark. I'll admit to a few peeks over my shoulder...

I've totally mucked up the Nancy thread. It's turned into my welcome thread! And here I am, posting unrelated stuff on the "Scratches" thread. I'm just bopping all over the place, wreaking havoc.

Haven't heard of The Last Half of Darkness. I will have to check it out. Delaware is next on my list.

Dark Fall series is my favorite so far. Can't wait for "The Lost Crown". Jonathan Boakes just amazes me.

What a wonderfull thread. I just finished Mystery of the Druids and was going to spend some time with Video Professor trying to learn how to get pictures and words on the same page, but----Scratches is waiting.

Just received the game!! I have one more exam to go tomorrow then 4 months of adventure gaming until the new college year starts!!

If you do a search for Scratches here in Discussions - some time back there was a fantastic thread talking about the game and what was what, who was who, etc. etc. etc. - I think it ran about thirteen pages of dialogue and conferring among those of us who played it......see if you can find it and enjoy the read, BUT only if you have finished the game. Welcome all to this "spook house".
