The Sacred Rings.

The Sacred Rings. - 03/15/07 11:11 PM

I picked up my Sacred Rings from Gamestop yesterday. I installed the game today and the graphics are excellent. After installing all four disc' to your computers hard drive the game can be played without using the disc' in your DVD drive. The sound is good but I noticed the characters voices were slightly out of sync. with lip and facial movement. That may be endemic to my computer and even so it wasn't a distraction. I haven't looked around too much as yet but the game looks promising. Any Gameboomers enjoying their copy yet? happydance

I've played a bit of the game today Air Navy. It isn't your computer that's off with the vocals and the mouth movements. I think it's just the way the game was made. I quit watching faces after the first 20 min. or so of the game. I am just listening to the voices now...and wandering around very lost.

Hello Sue and Heidi, I got a kick out of the character with the goggles and his bunker apartment. Looks like a singles bachelor pad or something along those lines. I think I rented that place out myself in 1974. whistle

No comment on the way his "house" looked Air Navy. Better his home than mine.

Gee --- I'm playing through as well and have no "out of syncness" at all.

My voices are out of sync too. So far my computer and the game aren't getting along too well. duh I have a high end machine too so I'm a bit put off with the game at the moment.

I really love this game but unfortunately the voices are also out of sync on my computer. The graphics are great though. The man with the glasses is just comical and I couldn't help laughing at him. happydance

The game distributor in Singapore managed to import this title and are distributing a small no. of copies in certain shops. I was fortunate to be able to grab a copy yesterday.

I'm curious to find out what our fellow boomers think of the game. Is it on overall a good game?

Hi,

I just got the game last Wednesday and finished it on Saturday (yesterday). I loved it and I did use the walkthrough because some of the puzzles didn't make sense but other ones did.

I would recommend this game and I will play it again maybe to see how much I remember without the walkthrough sometime.

The voices are out of sync on my computer too. But I'm really loving this game. I managed to gain access to a couple places on my own, but wasn't sure how I did it. Then after some more tinkering with a few things, I lost access to places again. Had to consult a walkthrough for a nudge on what I did. smile

I've just got to Manula valley, and have been to the forest/abandoned mine location.

The house and the tram ride brought back some fond memories of sequences in Myst II, III and IV for me. So far, I've found the drama to be interesting and voices well acted. The story could benefit from better writing though. Nikifor was a rather annoying NPC, but he did remind me of some of Jeff Goldblum's movie roles.

I think there are some bugs on the game. Firstly, there's this light on the control panel in the bridge that is supposed to be lit by activating the correct no. of crystals, pressing a coloured button then pulling a lever in the telescope room to one of six positions. According to the Walkthrough I am supposed to see the third light light up on this control panel. However, this light is not seen to be switched on even though the image of the panel is seen. When I do the same series of steps for the bridge controls, the fourth light on the panel is supposed to light up, but the third button lights up now. I was worried, but I was able to continue onwards in the game. I believe there is a programming error that caused a wrong files to play such that light appear to be lit out of sequence. I really hope the developers can do something about this, otherwise the control panel puzzle makes no sense.

Secondly, I happen to notice that if I turn off the music volume in the options menu, Umang's voice overs in the game cannot be heard even though the subtitles for his comments could be seen. This was slightly disappointing, as I found the music to be distracting in the first part of the game, and if I turn off the music I miss out on hearing his vocal reactions to the puzzles in the game.

The developers know about the cutscenes of the lights on the panel when the stands are activated. Just be sure that the handle is at the correct wedges and you will be okay.

As for the music volume and voice - I didn't have that problem. I had the music volume lowered but I can hear his voice. Maybe play with it.

Me too..The voices in the game are out of sync..but not to much..So far I am enjoying the game, figure out some things to do, but I am stuck again..The graphics are great, had to play around with the music and the voice volume, the music a bit distracting..Haven't gotten to far into the game, but it looks like a lot of fun..

Have completed the game. It has some cool moments but I feel that the ending could have been better. Somehow the first game "Aura" is still better than this one.
