Syberia 1 and 2

Syberia 1 and 2 - 03/19/07 07:45 PM

I just finished Syberia 2 and have to thank MaG for the great walkthorough... without which I never could have completed the game.

The puzzles in Syberia 1 were easier and I was proud to have accomplished a few with out the WT but Syberia 2, I needed it. In fact, I played the last part with mouse in one hand and the WT in the other.

I enjoyed the game just as much even with the cheating because you got to experience everything and so what if you didn't know how to solve it yourself. I probably could have if I had 10 years to spend thinking about it. laugh

It was, by far, the best adventure game I've played yet.

Now why isn't there a Syberia 3??? Story could be about getting Kate Walker back to NY. I'd love to see her tell that cheating boyfriend off.

I feel sort of lost without Syberia to play.
<sob> I was going to trade them but think now I'll just keep them to play again next year.

P.S. I especially liked the little boy in Syberia 1, he reminded me of my clever little autistic grandson, Tyler.

NYLady, I'm glad you decided to keep the games; I regret that I didn't keep mine because they were great fun to play.

If I might add, I'd heard a vague rumor that there was the possibility of a movie. think

Hi NYLady - glad you enjoyed the games - I thought the Siberia games were wonderful, but it's always a letdown when you have enjoyed something so much & want more NOW!!! But the mark of a truly good AG methinks!! smile

Yes... I feel that way when I finish a good book too! Sadness that I won't be with these folks anymore. Like leaving behind good friends.

Yes, yes, yes! Good books and good games (in my adorable opinion, of course!) always leave me feeling lost and sad and wishing I was starting, not finishing. Then again, it is still better than being glad that the end was FINALLY reached even if it is a relief to be done with it.

Syberia 1 & 2 are among the best and most immersive adventure games ever, I must agree with you.

I enjoy being puzzled, but sometimes it is nice to play a game where you don't get totally stuck for a day or three. I think maybe this added to Syberia's charm for me. I could keep flowing with the story because I didn't get too held up. Worse spot for me, as I remember, was trying to outmaneuver that pesky rodent in the Youkal village. lol

My toughest spot in Syberia 2 was at the end, trying to get that music to play!

Trippy, I hope it's more than a rumour...that would be great!

NYLady, S1 & 2 are definitely keepers. I'm replaying S1 at the moment and loving it all over again. I remember that puzzle in S2! lol These games stay in your memory for a long time. Glad you enjoyed them.

Just finished Siberia I. Very much enjoyed it even though I prefer mostly 1st person. They really hit an ace with the Siberia series. I've checked in most of the stores here in Mpls, but I haven't found Siberia II yet. I'm always looking in the trading post to see if someone wants to sell or trade. In the meantime, I just got "The Sacred Rings" to take on vacation at end of March, but I don't think I'll make it that long--I'm reading with interest the hints logs for those playing now and am itching to do the same. happydance

Check out Target, Jane. I went there looking for a new Nancy Drew and found the double pack-- Syberia 1 and 2, Game of the Year edition. It was marked $10.00. I found that hard to believe so I took it to the register and asked her to check the price before she rang it up. (I didn't know what a great game it was so wasn't going to pay more than 10 for it.) She checked and said... "You are right, it isn't ten dollars... It's $2.69." Yep, I took it. Not sure if it was an error or what. Maybe it was discounted because it is older. But you might check.

Re: Syberia 1 and 2 - 03/20/07 10:03 PM

NY Lady, I've been checking the Targets as well as Best Buy, Comp USA (which is closing), Game Spot, and Game Crazy. Most don't have a hugh selection of PC Adventure Games (except those, of course, that are about fighting.) I went into a Hollywood Video Game Crazy and asked if they had any Adventure Games for PC and the sales guy actually laughed. Oh Well--But I'll keep looking.

By the way, I can't complete any game without a walkthrough, either. So thanks to all of you who can write walkthrough's. You're are the best. praise

Such a shame Ma5icshell,
I just gave away 16 of my games at the Trading Post and Syberia 2 was among them. Try Amazon.Com and see if they have it--you might find one new or used. It could be worth a shot.

Jane, did you ask at any of the stores if they could order it for you? Or check at InteractCD; there's a link at the top of this page.
Or start a thread in the trading post asking for the game.

Re: Syberia 1 and 2 - 03/21/07 11:51 PM

I might have to do just that. It's one of those things, though, where you don't want to wait. There's nothing more exciting than finding that game and rushing home to play it. It's so hard to wait for it to come in the mail. Thanks, though. I'll probably have to order it, or ask in the trading post. I'm having so much fun with gaming. Who would have thunk it?

Re: Syberia 1 and 2 - 03/22/07 10:53 PM

That game was so well done it makes the others look like an old Mickey Mouse cartoon. frown

I loved the characters, the story, the graphic and the voice acting was A1.

I'm playing Keepsake now and the voice acting is terrible. They sound like they are reading. The game itself is OK but the voices are driving me crazy. So phoney. Really irritating.

Hi Jhart -- as far as I know, White Birds Productions is not currently making another Kate Walker game.

If they do ever create one, though, it will probably be due to the interest of the many fans of Syberia!

Re: Syberia 1 and 2 - 03/24/07 01:01 AM

Are you also a sensitive person Darleen? I am too. I cry so hard during movies, weddings and funerals... sometimes even during patriotic songs. I always cry at parades or any ceremony.
I get so embarrassed, but maybe it isn't such a bad thing.

Anyway, you'd think... if a company were smart... they would see all the money they COULD make if they would only make another one!!!!!

Just my honest opinion.
