Onomatopoetic Ode to Name the Game

Onomatopoetic Ode to Name the Game - 04/21/07 12:40 PM

The time has once again arrived to start a new Name The Game thread.

Quote:
...so many replies, so little space!!! Rules, for those who haven't participated before, the person who is IT gives clues to an Adventure game, the person who guesses correctly becomes IT. This is an ongoing game, relax, guess and enjoy!!!
Flotsam is IT, having supplied the following clue:

Quote:
Look for the gilt sea dweller.

I've just guessed that the game referred to is The Secret of the Golden Dolphin, which turned out to be correct.

(If anyone wishes to see the last page of the Elbow-Greased Send-off of Name The Game thread, it's here. )

Special Note: Clues of course don't have to be in poetic form (or answers, either). laugh The thread title is merely a doffing of the hat to those who choose poetic clues.

Hi flotsam smile

I remember a game that was solely based on postcards and letters etc - but I think it was more a puzzle game than an adventure - and I can't remember the name of it any way !! lol

Still, if nothin' else, I've sent this thread further up the page wink

Yes, Mad.

This is because you sorta answered the last postings that carry that title.
You have to click the reply of the starting post to get the change in title. The ones after that change of title will change headers.

This is because several threads or postings can be merged now. It shows then which response is to what postings.

Deep, down dark city - dark night of the soul

Wheedling, arguing, posing, lying,
they beckon you with tongues well-honed.

Pleading, calling, gently warning -
the violinist maid from her bed of stone.

Raging ever, wandering, flying?
The artist's voice vibrates the night.

Fail or succeed, ends the ceaseless dying.
Two or four will end their ghostly sights.

Conduct the orchestra of sounds while trying

Nope, not Dreamfall. Here are all the clues together, plus a little bit more..

My artist 'friend' has a lofty space
much like his soul, all dark and sad
Not safe to stay, his anger's great
toward the strangers who strayed
and the ones who went bad

*new*

A growing eclipse began your vision scrying
increasing your knowledge with each flash of the light.

Alchemists, ghost, and artist are now vying
to gain your support as you work past your fright

General hopes your success will somewhat atone -
by rescuing the innocent, putting some of it right.

Re: Onomatopoetic Ode to Name the Game - 07/14/07 02:41 AM

Shortly after posting, I stopped to think about all the games I'd played with parrots in them, and then reflected that almost all of those parrots ended up flying away in disgust--usually after the protagonist nearly killed them...

What do adventure game companies have against parrots, anyway? whistle

So, first clue:

One of the first things you may notice in this game is that our heroine has no legs.

The next thing you may notice is that she doesn't need them.
