Amber on Win2000 OS issues - 08/26/03 11:48 PM
I'm trying to play Amber on Windows 2000 when it was written for Win95. I've got it installed and when I try to play it here is what happens:
-I get to view the nice autumn leaf video opening
-next, I get a message "script error: handler not defined #movutils" with the option to continue or quit
-when I press continue in the step above, I get another message "script error: handler not defined #newgame" with the option to continue or quit
-when I press continue, all I get is a black blank screen with my cursor on it. All I can do at this point is ctl+alt+del out and end the task of running the game.
When I opened up the directory, I can play all of the audio QuickTime files and listen to them. I also noticed a file called "movutils.dll". This is the .dll file for the movies I'm sure. I see no file that has anything to do with the "#newgame" message.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
