SpaceQuest Fan, Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken were my first real adventure game experiences and they still heavily influence everything I do.

hmmm I don't see where to click to play the game I am t the web page... never mind... an ad was covering the game me bad

I'm having trouble too. I clicked on the game's thumbnail and then on "click here to play" but I just get sent back to the original screeen.

I didn't have any troubles. Did you close the ad?

Closing the ad? I never pay any attention to that sort of ad!

Just closed the ad. I'm now in the game.

I'm looking closer at the pop-up ad. I understand that the ad is probably necessary to fund the site, but it blends right in with the game screen so the whole thing looks like an ad.

I guess I should have considered that distinguishing the two is the game's initial challenge.

Well I can't see anything to click on to close any ads !!

There's the ad (white square with an insignia within the larger square, which is actually the greyed-out game menu). At the bottom is a small black bar that says "close." It's obscured because it matches up with some text right under it.

If you can find the word "close," click on it.

It is in black on the bottom of the ad. I highlighted it in red HERE.

And I've clicked all over the place on the page I AM seeing, Becky, and not achieved anything

And someone's at my door now so I'll have to experiment again later

First there is a movie that appears, just wait a few seconds or click on "skip ad" on the bottom right of it, then close the ad box that comes up. THe ads may be different but the close box is in the same place.

Hree is a way around it: Zee and the Alien Machine

The ad that shows up must be different for different computers or browsers. There's no movie when I access the site, and the ad is different -- it's white red and green, and blends in well with the game screen.

That new link is helpful, Ana -- you just have to wait for the movie and then the game loads automatically.

The ad is different every time you go in. It's on a rotation basis, but the close button is the same. The movie has been hit or miss. The alternae site I linked though has no ad appearing.
