Hi Kathy
I don't know where you heard that information.
PC gaming is still very strong. What type of games are you interested in ?

Hello,
I have been reading about it in the newspaper off and on during the year. and even more so just this last weekend. I like the adventure games, like the last crown, the argon series, sherlock holmes. still life series.chronicles of mystery. not the new hidden ones, nancy drew, art of murder series. black mirror series. those kind.

Hi Kathy
There is a new Sherlock Holmes coming out. Nancy Drew seems to have a new game every October or so.
Have you played Black Mirror 1,2,3 ? There is a new Secret Files game coming out at the beginning of next year. That will be number 3. Lost Horizon Edna and Harvey, Alter Ego, Gray Matter to name a few, have come out in the last year. I'm sure other folks here can tell you games that have come out. Hope this helps. The Book of Unwritten Tales is coming out soon. That is one I am looking forward too. Edna and Harvey have another one coming out soon. So you see, I don't think PC adventure games are dying. It seems every year that this rumour comes to light.

What are the 3 reasons they gave ?

The three reasons were, hewlet-packard will sell or spin off its pc business, google buys motorola mobility, and dell says sales have been lackluster.

Didn't we do this a year ago? or two years ago? Pc Gaming (and adventure gaming) has been declared out and finished many, many times, but somehow pc gaming still remains.

And quite frankly, I think it will still be around, simply because the game companies and publishers need it - not at least in terms of the pc driving hardware configuration for pc games.

However, as I see it, the game scene evolves. This means that people play games not only on their pcs, but also on their consoles and today and now on their iPhones and handheld devices.

PC companies may be closing their doors or venturing in new directions, but that doesn't mean PCs themselves will follow any time soon.

Thats good to hear. I am not concerned about the iphones or the handheld devices. just the pc, and the pc games

There's a huge established base of PCs -- it would seem very odd if people suddenly stopped playing games on them.

Will the time come when people can accomplish everything they now do on a PC on a tablet or on a phone or on a TV? Possibly. I still don't see us all tossing out our PCs out any time soon, though.

Reactions to trends in high tech seem to be accelerated. If console sales go down over what they were the previous year, then we hear that consoles are dead. Any downward trend is interpreted as a death spiral.

Its probably just scaremongering and rumour put out by makers of iphones and handheld devices, to make you buy their products.
There's nothing better than sitting in front of a nice big screen in semi-darkness playing a spooky game!! staring at a tiny hand-held object just doesn't cut it for me...Long Live the PC!!

Older eyes tend to like bigger screens! A larger screen also, IMHO, is more immersive.

I'd say.....The news of my (it's) death has been greatly exaggerated...Someone famous said that ! There are few adventure games for ANY consoles. We (PC's) have it all !!!! Don't believe what you read about PC gaming. Console gamers are just jealous of our superior graphics, CPU's, and controllers !! The best games out there are written for PC's..unless you think Halo3 is one of the best....
