When I first read your post I felt cross about the mention of kickstarter for what I percieve as a successful series of games.

But the interview in the video was so interesting & the idea of a kickstarter campaign to fund the porting of ND games from PC to handheld devices I whole-heartedly support! Handheld devices have been the saviour of some AG developers & anything to reach out to a larger audience & expand the interest in AGs has only got to be for the better & make the future look brighter for them!

PS That was one enormous magnifying glass Becky!

I wish they would use the money to update their engine and bring Nancy Drew into 2012. We're long due for something much more amazing technically when it comes to Nancy Drew.

Who wants to see and control Nancy Drew even in 2D!? I would love to see a Nancy Drew in the same style as Gray Matter. That would be fantastic.

Megan seems to have lovely taste. Enjoyed her lamps, posters, and magnifying glasses. Wonder if the co-worker ever worked with Al Lowe?

I think Nancy Drew should port nicely to tablets, kinda wondering how you'd see all the clues on a smartphone, but presumably they have a plan.

$100 to be part of the beta programme of testing the game, I can't afford it. How disappointing. The $50 pledge is badly thought of, everyone willing to pledge on this campaign must already have bought Tomb of the Lost Queen.

Many won't see the point of pledging $50 instead of $25, and many won't be able to afford $100. Being part of the beta programme should have been at $50, like for Pinkerton Road Studio/Jane Jensen, if I remember correctly.

I think I will pledge $25, to see at least the producer's blog, but I will need to look at my finances at the end of the month.

rmt, this Kickstarter is not for the PC versions so not pledging to it will not impact the developement of the PC games. It is for those interested in them taking the existing games as making them so they can be played on Ipad and Android. The ND games are still going strong.

Still, if they needed a Kickstarter campaign to move their games to tablets, I think they are not so rich after all. I have a feeling that the next game will be available on tablets whether this campaign is successful or not, and it will cost them. I could be wrong.

I'm glad I'm helping them either way, I have enjoyed playing the Nancy Drew games for many years, especially the interactive ebook of Shadow Ranch for iPhone and iPad, I would love to see more of those.

It may have more to do with the fact they do not want to take the risk without funding and also it lets them know how interested people are. If they do not get the funding it will likely be because the interest is not there and therefore it is not a venture they should undertake.

At least they are not out any money. It was a good way to test the waters and obviously their audience does not play on mobile devices.

Their idea was to find new players and fans on tablets, unfortunately those are still unaware of Nancy Drew. It is a bit of a shame since they probably could sell more on iOS and Android than on PC and Mac. I'm sure they'll find a way eventually and slowly to release their games on these platforms.
