Secret Files 3 Demo

A german demo of Secret Files 3 has been released.

Initially I didn't want to download the demo, since I will buy the game anyway, but I just couldn't resist

I have finished playing the demo, and I must say that SF3 was a bit different than I imagined, but I really enjoyed it.

Now I'm looking even more forward to it

I was probably just lucky. <g> I was guessing what I was supposed to click on and I guessed right. If you can hang on, I'll uninstall and see if I can do it again, then tell you.

Edit: Okay, here's what I did.
Click Installieren.
Click on Weiter>
Where it has two little boxes, click on the top one by Ich bin mit den Bedingungen...etc.
Click through on Weiter 3 more times.
Click Installieren.
When you get to two more boxes, Click on Verknupfung auf dem Desktop anlegen for a Desktop icon.
Click on Liesmich angeigen if you want to see the Read Me.

Click on Fertig...whatever. I can't read my writing. That just means Finish, I think.

Don't click on Abbrechen. That must mean Cancel.

kjos, I also got a error message after extracting from the temporary file.

Here's what you can do:
Don't double click on the GA3_GAS_Demo.exe file.
Instead, right click on it and unpack it in the same folder.

Then double click on setup.exe

Kolby,thanks will try what you said. How do I unpack it.

If you right click on the GA3_GAS_Demo.exe file,
there should be an option called "unzip here", or "extract here".

I'm really enjoying it so far, except now I'm stuck in this mini game I can't get out of. It seems that whether I say yes or no, I get stuck in it irregardless, so I'm not sure what it's asking me there. Does anyone know how to get out of/through this statue mini game? So far, I don't seem to be making any progress there.

Other than that, I'm enjoying it.

I don't have a .exe file. at the end of the demo that I unziped.

Do you have a zipped file that says GA_3 GA_S Demo? The zip file won't have .exe after it.

Maybe it's because I'm running Windows 7, but my zipped file looks like a file folder with a zipper. The unzipped files are in a folder that includes an icon that's got an image of Nina on it (the Application file) and two others that you don't need.

Yours is unzipped/extracted, right?

Yes it is Gil. I'm running win xp. maybe it won't run on xp.

I just looked at the website, Richard. The game is supposed to run on XP.

But all you see in the unzipped folder is a plain, square blue box? Is it possible you downloaded something else? You should see an icon of Nina.

To unzip a zip file, you'll need a unzipper...

like 7-ZiP. It's a free program that can be downloaded here:

Finished the demo, and it looks like it's going to be a great game. They're definitely tying in plot elements from the first game, and I'm interested to see how they're expanding on them. Can't wait for the full version.

Still can't get it to run I hope I don't have any trouble installing the game when I get it.

kjos, what happens when you double click on the downloaded file?

It goes through a lot of unpacking files and than I see a picture of the girl and I click on I think it is install and I get a error message. I can't do any more.
I tried the same thing on 3 computers and a laptop same message.

Since it's in German, can you copy down the error message and give it to us? Maybe Kolby can tell you what it says.

No there isn't.

You wrote earlier you have a square box with blue around it called GA_3_GAS_Demo

If you right click on it, and unpack/unzip it, you should get a file called setup.exe

I allready unziped the download with WinZip.
The square box I think is the installation file. That's the one I'm having trouble with. It's not installing the files. I'm missing some files.

This> Error Code: -5001 : 0x80070002 means you should be in the Glitches forum. I looked this up in Google and couldn't find that specific error message. I found one prefaced with -5004 that indicated a problem with Install Shield but -5001 : 0x80070002 might be something completely different.

If I were you, I'd ask InlandAZ or Draclvr, someone who has more experience with error messages, about this.

I think I'll skip the demo, and if SF 3 comes out in time for Xmas, I'll buy the full game then.

Anyone possibly know how many Secret Files (that is, if there'll be a SF 4, SF 5, etc,) there's going to be, by any chance?

Cruise -- looking into my crystal ball -- I see Secret Files in the future -- but can't distinguish the final number...

Just kidding. I don't believe the developer has said thats the series is meant to be a trilogy only , so I don't think there's any definite information about how many games there will eventually be.

I see Secret Files 3 is out for download pre-order At GamersGate. The game will be out 9/14 for $27.
