Karsten -- the game was definitely shorter than Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis. But part of that was because Secret Files 3 is structured so that it cut out some of the "back and forthing" that I did in Secret Files 2 -- though I like exploring large environments, I'm not wild about trudging everywhere before a puzzle can be solved.
I appreciate it when a game doesn't have (for instance) a difficult maze that seems to mostly be there to take up time and extend gameplay.
I didn't finish the game thinking "that was short!" -- partly, I suspect, because so much was happening in the plot.
