1345: Nicolas Eymerich arrives in Carcassonne, city of the Inquisition, where he receives the mission to unveil the truth about troubling events that have occurred in a small village in the South of France, former territory of the Cathar heresy. In this region, the Church has lost all representation and power, especially the Order of Dominicans facing the new Cistercian establishment. Bad omen is in sight and Nicolas Eymerich must inquire about those events. As he is investigating, he soon realizes that only part of the truth is being revealed to him. Thanks to efficient investigation methods and to his sharp observation skills, the veil is soon lifted: the sickening smell of Satan and its demons is in the air!

"The Plague", the first opus of the full 3D adventure game saga "Nicolas Eymerich, The Inquisitor" takes the players in a mysterious investigation. Is Nicolas Eymerich really grappling with diabolical entities? Or is his fanaticism making him see them where it is only unfortunate but natural events?

Players embody the great inquitistor , famous for his rigidity and efficient methods. They will have to show observation, dialog and deductive skills to progress in their quest for the truth. They will solve multiple mysteries in the form of original and varied puzzle games, but also gather, combine and smartly use the objects spread in the environment.

During the investigation, players will also have to interact through multiple choice dialogs with the characters that appear in the various environments in order to learn about the dark events that brought them here. One of the original features of the game is to offer a fully dubbed version in Latin, creating an even more singular atmosphere.

In this point’n click game, the character on screen moves thanks to the mouse in the PC and
Mac versions and via the touch screen on iOS and Android versions. All-time players will also discover that "Nicolas Eymerich, The Inquisitor – Book I: The Plague" can be entirely played with the keyboard, by typing directly the orders, just like it used to be done in the very first adventure games. At any time, it is possible to unfold the map and to instantly go to a place the players already went to. In order to give access to the adventure to both experts and beginners, "Nicolas Eymerich, The Inquisitor – Book I: The Plague" includes an integrated help system. This will avoid being stuck in case a puzzle is not solved or an action is not successfully completed. Nevertheless, the player will have to wait 45 seconds between two uses of the help system.

Alongside the story in itself, some extra elements are integrated to the adventure, such as madcap bonuses refering to other video game classics. They will have to be all discovered to reach a 100% score at the end of the game. One of those elements can, for instance, be revealed by pouring wine on the spider…
"Nicolas Eymerich, The Inquisitor – Book I: The Plague" will be released on PC, Mac, iPhone, iPadand Android starting july 9th 2013. The game is dubbed in English, Latin and Italian. French, English, Latin, Italian, Spanish and German subtitles area vailable.

Happy Gaming!

Is this an episodic game ? I think the price is a bit high, but if that price includes all episodes,it seems to be worth it.

Yes - It is episodic and I think possibly 4 episodes.
The price is only for one episode.

Greyfuss, the audiogame only version is a special release for the blind. The new audio visual release will be added to that website soon but it is currently not up yet. If you purchasing from other websites such as Steam or Adventure Shop it is the audio/visual version.

Am I correct that this game is developed by a different developer than that for Dracula 4, even though both games are published by Anuman?

If this is another episodic game, is it like Dracula 4 all over again?

The developer is different, but the publisher is the same.

There are a couple of walkthroughs, but none from Gameboomers yet.
This translated walkthrough (originally in Italian) is pretty good, and has some helpful pictures:

Hi, fellow Boomers,
I would like to put my "two cents" in and say that, although I would LIKE to play this game, I think that the price of each episode ($19.99) is a bit much when you conemplate spending $60.00 for the entire series. I think that I'll wait and see if the price will go down OR if it will be sold as a "bundle" at a lower price.
