Announcing Secret Files: Sam Peters - 07/26/13 04:03 PM

In Secret Files: Sam Peters, journalist Sam gets her own adventure

UPDATED - Release date changed to October 18th.

You can access the Official website here.

You can see some screens on FaceBook here.

Quote:
A Secret Files spin-off with the popular Sam Peters is the next project to be released by the proven team, Animation Arts and Deep Silver! In Secret Files 2, the journalist must save herself and get from an island back to the mainland – but that is only the beginning. A whole new adventure is starting for Sam!

The reporter is already on the trail of the next hot story: Scientists in Africa have discovered changes in the genetic codes of aquatic animals. Their home, Lake Bosumtwi, was formed over a million years ago through the impact of a meteor. Could it be that alien lifeforms made it to Earth that way?

That would make a sensational front-page story for Sam and her grumpy editor-in-chief at the science magazine "Uncharted". But it actually looks like Sam will have worse problems in the jungle than the lack of a duty-free shop next to the airstrip in the bush: The legends of the Ashanti in Ghana tell of humanlike creatures that lurk in the trees at night, drag off their victims to their dens and suck their blood: the Asanbosam. When an expedition disappears in the rainforest, Sam must decide how far she is prepared to go to bag this incredible story...

The point & click adventure Secret Files: Sam Peters will offer several hours of playing time and is going to be available starting September 27, 2013, to be downloaded for € 9,99 Euro (MSRP).

About the Secret Files series
The predecessor games Secret Files: Tunguska, Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis, and Secret Files 3 were all top sellers and won numerous awards: Comenius EduMedia Award for computer games with competence-enhancing potential (Secret Files 3), Giga-Maus by Eltern Family software award (Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis), children's software award TOMMI (Secret Files: Tunguska), and many more.

Animation Arts in Halle, Germany, has been developing these showcase projects within the adventure genre for years, just like this latest installment. The Secret Files titles count among the best-selling adventure games in Germany, and are frequently distinguished by the trade press.

Happy Gaming!

Re: Announcing Secret Files: Sam Peters - 07/26/13 10:25 PM

So I take it that there is not an official game site yet...right?

Re: Announcing Secret Files: Sam Peters - 07/26/13 10:31 PM

That is the official website for all Secret Files Greyfuss, it has all 3 of the Secret Files on it, and I am sure they will be adding this one to it as well.

If you want to actually see info on it you will have to look on their FaceBook Page here.

Oh, fine. If I actually want to see information on this game, I have to sign up for FaceBook?
It seems you either join the crowd who love 'social media' or you're out in the cold these days.

Thanks Sheriff

That is a nice screenshot of the new game. Don't know my way around FaceBook (not being a member) but I don't see any other info. I do want to thank you for keeping tabs on all the adventure games on FaceBook and giving us early heads up for those of us who aren't members.
Screenshot of the new game???

Re: Announcing Secret Files: Sam Peters - 07/26/13 11:11 PM

I get the info from the developers Greyfuss and the links they provided for any additional info other than the press release of the game are the websites I posted. Unfortunately, I can't do anything about the fact they provide the official website and it has no news on it.duh

More people use FaceBook so I believe that's the most up to date news. It's easier to update than changing a website.

Can you see this screenshot?

Re: Announcing Secret Files: Sam Peters - 07/27/13 10:22 AM

This looks good. I hope it's up to the standard of SF2 which is one of my favourite ever games. SF3 was a bit of a disappointment compared with the first two.

Is this a full game? For £8.64? Something is amiss.

Re: Announcing Secret Files: Sam Peters - 07/29/13 11:50 PM

From the descriptive in Ana's post, it sounds as if it's a short game/episode, mj2c. "Several hours of playing time..."

Re: Announcing Secret Files: Sam Peters - 07/30/13 06:27 PM

I'm not a fan of episodic games at all - I always wonder if there will BE another episode or how long I have to wait for the next one. duh

I rather wait and get them all at once. smile

Re: Announcing Secret Files: Sam Peters - 07/31/13 02:41 PM

Secret Files I & II are two of my favorite games. This is the first time in a couple of years that I have an actual list of games I want to play. This one is going on the list.
Thank you for the info.

Re: Announcing Secret Files: Sam Peters - 08/05/13 04:56 PM

Hi Ana.
I downloaded the German Demo of SF3, but it would not work on my WIN XP computer. I'll wait for the ENGLISH demo. and maybe THAT will work. It would be a shame if I couldn't play SF3. I enjoyed the previous episodes so much.
Thanks for the heads up on this new episode.

Re: Announcing Secret Files: Sam Peters - 08/09/13 01:15 AM

Richard, I guess that you and I are in "the same boat". Hopefully, there will be an English demo. If there IS, and my WIN XP machine gets that to work, I'll buy it. If not, I guess I will have to skip it. I've had experiences with games like HOODWINK and MT ROSS which didn't work for me, in spite of the support from the developers of those games.

Re: Announcing Secret Files: Sam Peters - 10/21/13 04:10 AM

Hi fellow Boomers,
I downloaded the game from STEAM. It's working very well on my WIN XP machine. My video card is a Nvidia GEFORCE GT430. Thankfully, about a year ago, I bought and installed this video card because most of the games these days would NOT have worked on the original card that came on my Dell pc.
Sandy

P.S. The price of the game on Steam is $9.99.
