Philadelphia, PA – October 6, 2013 – Europa 2022 takes Point-n-Click adventure games to a whole new level. Combining traditional adventure game mechanics with the fast-paced adventure feel of today’s adventure games, like Uncharted or Tomb Raider, Europa is looking to take point-n-click games to today’s generation of players.

You are on the first manned mission to Jupiter’s icy moon, Europa, in search of extraterrestrial life, when one of your crew members sabotages your ship. Who and why? What dark, mysterious secrets lie in wait on the surface of Europa? Find out in the upcoming Adventure/Horror game, “Europa 2022.”
Europa 2022 is now on Kickstarter, with some great rewards including an original comicbook prologue, original soundtrack, and even becoming a character in the game.

Features:
Story-driven mystery/horror/adventure game
Classic point and click game elements in a contemporary 3D action/adventure style (note: NOT a shooter)

Optional ARG [Alternate Reality Game] elements to explore deeper backstory
Unravel a mystery that spans hundreds of years
Play in either First or Third Person View

It's just that reading "Europa is looking to take point-n-click games to today's generation of players" makes me feel ancient wink

I just contributed, I hope they'll be successful. I wanted to go for the Beta tier (a physical tier that requires $10 mailing costs outside the US), but at $70 I just can't afford it. Oh well, I'll play it when it is finished.

HI Ana,
Thanks for the heads-up on this game. From watching the trailer, it seems that it is a "voice-less" kind of adventure, somewhat like an "indie" based game. Correct me if I'm wrong about that. The graphics, however, look real nice.

I am not sure what you mean by Indie? Do you mean a Myst like single exploration or Indie as a small developer? I know the game has music, but do not believe it has voice overs. I will let you know.

Hi all! I'm the creator of Europa 2022. Thought I'd pop in and answer any questions you guys may have!

Margo - Sorry for making you feel ancient! But I played all the original Point n Clicks, too! smile Love King's Quest...and Monkey Island is my favorite game of all time.

rmt - Thank you so much for backing!! smile

sanford - It is "voiceless" in that there are no voice actors (currently), however, there is a lot of dialog and interaction with crew members!
And your second question - I am an indie developer. I hired a freelance musician and 3D artist to help out, as well.

Funny that such a (comparably) fine-looking game is asking for so little!
I'm sure they'll make it (just pledged of course)!

Thanks Sanford! I appreciate the positive feedback!! smile

And Tomer, it was hard for me to ask for so little, yes, but I asked for the bare minimum I need to make the game. Of course the game will be all the better the more I raise, so keep spreading the word!! wink (And thank you for backing!)

hi dayv,

good luck with your game, the trailer looks really good smile

thanks for getting in touch and answering all our questions:)

and don't worry, it's not you that makes me feel ancient, in my country I practically am, at least for my son's friends who think I'm some kind of freak to be playing games "at my age" lol

Haha! I fully anticipate I'll be playing games when I'm 99, so there's nothing wrong with that!! laugh
