Any News on Asylum?

Hi everyone. I haven't been around in a long time because of some personal issues (wrote about some of them in Mixed Bag--thanks for being there you all) and so I wasn't sure what the latest was on this game. I did click on the link for it, but was unable to get to the website or FAQ, so I thought I'd post here and see if you guys might have new information.

Hi all!

We've been rather quiet but we're still regularly issuing updates on Kickstarter and social networks (Facebook and Twitter). Asylum is doing great: the entire building is complete and it's already possible to explore every single room. I don't want to repeat myself but the Hanwell Institute will be a dream come true for fans of the adventure genre

We're making progress with the game logic, such as puzzles, and interaction with characters now. I'm afraid we can't confirm the release date yet, but rest assured we're getting closer each passing day.

Since I pledged to the Kickstarter, I get regular updates from Agustin about the game and love reading every word. Very excited to hear about all the progress!

as I thought you could only vote for it probably wont ever be a disk version
and I sure do not like to download anything.

Download, Disk...Who cares...

I just want to play the game....

Download is the way to go lately.....Fast game play.. No waiting for the snail mail.... love it..

Plus if you have a problem with the download its rectified better then with a game disk I think..

If you have a disk that has a glitch its way harder to get it to work....Whereas if you have a download....It can be straighten out with customer support I think is better...

Anyway I like downloads now.... Its the new way to go with games...Its faster...

Plus I never have to wait .........Especially if I need a fast Fix...

You must have an awfully fast connection if you "never have to wait."
If you can't download large files because of a slow or unstable connection, or if your connection is throttled to ~128K after you exceed your download allowance, or if you have to pay according to how many MB you download (doubling or tripling the original cost of the game), a download is certainly not better than a DVD.
Nor is it true that you get better service with a download than with a game on disc. The quality of service depends entirely on the publisher or developer.

And :Yes: downloads are way better if you have fast internet service..I pay one fee each month for this service...

Disk can have glitches , scratches, etc,etc

Download can be fixed ..

All I am saying is the new age is going to be downloads...I hate the thought, but thats just the way it is....Just Look at the TP

Had areal bad experience with downloading so that's why I am a little afraid to even think about it

Well, Darleen03, between games on a disk and games downloaded, the ones I've had most hassle with have definitely been the downloads

And customer service ?? That can vary.
And, as Jenny100 says, it's not really related to whether a game has been downloaded or bought on disk.
Service be "stinky" or "sweet" in either case

[AND I think we're "off topic" now !! ]

As a huge fan of boxed games with a collection I cherish, I'll be the first one to admit that digital downloads are unbeatable in terms of convenience. No matter how slow your connection is, you still get the digital game first before the disc. And like some have been saying, it's the ideal way to preserve software, AND more ecological to boot.

That said, we're going to produce a boxed edition of Asylum for old times sake (precisely the one we offered in the Kicsktarter).

Also, fans of Scratches/Asylum/first-person adventures are in for a small surprise soon. Stay tuned
