With everyone mostly recovered from the holiday season (has anyone seen Phil?), KING Art Games has decided to add some additional finishing touches to The Book of Unwritten Tales 2. The fifth and final chapter (i.e. the full game) is now set to release on February 20th for PC, Mac, and Linux.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 will be released on February 20th 2015 on Steam, GOG and numerous other platforms, as well as a classic boxed version. As a special bonus, the game is also available in a DRM-free Almanac Edition, an exclusive edition whose packaging is modelled like a hardcover book. This includes a 104-page hardback artbook, making-of DVD, the orchestral soundtrack on CD, a double-sided poster and the exclusive in-game content “Color Your Critter” in which you can color Nate’s popular sidekick in-game in your favorite color!

A little later than I'd expected, but that's actually a good thing. It gives me a chance to catch up on episodes 3 and 4 before the the last part is out.

Cathy, the GOG version is not up yet. It's where I intend to get my final backer copy as well, but for now there is only the Steam version. I would imagine it should be up close to the release date, though, and then we can get our copies there.

I'm guessing this is to iron out all the bugs in the Early Access version and there are many!!! Especially in Ch4 in the pyramid.

Even the updates on previous chapters don't seem to have worked for everyone.

The only thing I've ever seen on GOG is the original Book Of Unwritten Tales and The Critter Chronicles. I don't think Book Of Unwritten Tales 2 has been on GOG yet.

Well I guess GOG isn't getting the game the same time as Steam. The game comes out on Friday at Steam. I can't seem to find a place to pre-order it at GOG at all,or any mention of the game. Can someone inform me otherwise please ?

I backed this one so they e- mailed me and
I will be able to get my digital verson
but I would rather wait for the boxed verson
and all my goodies I really needed a new mouse pad
mine looks like it has been through a hay stack backwards
several times.

Diane, you get a digital copy and a boxed copy if you pledged for a physical tier. I pledged for a box as well and found out I got the Almanac version from GOG, which has all kinds of extras. I believe you get the same with Steam, if you prefer that. It's worth it, if you're interested. You'll still get your boxed copy regardless.

I did pledge for a physical tier checked it out and yes you do get the Almanac version with all the goodies.
prefer GOG so I just might do that and get my key.

You're welcome, and enjoy the game! By the way, I'm sure you probably already know this if you're receiving their e-mails, but you have to contact their support in order to receive a GOG key. Just go to this link - https://kingartgames.freshdesk.com/support/home - and click on New Ticket. They will want your name, Kickstarter e-mail address and possibly your King Art log-in. I think they would be fine with just the first two, however. I had to wait about a day for mine, but it's possible they will be faster for yours, as when I mailed them, GOG did not yet even have the game for sale, and they probably won't be dealing with quite as many tickets as they were on the first day. Have fun! It's a great game.
