NEW YORK - May 21, 2015 - Imagine a not-too-distant future where genetic engineering has become the norm, 'wetware' wires people directly to the web, an addictive online service named Trance has replaced almost any need for human interaction, and an omnipresent AI named Central powers the city. This questionable future is closer than you think in Technobabylon, a cyberpunk point & click adventure released today as a PC download from the game's official website (http://www.technobabylon-game.com), Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/307580/), and GOG (http://www.gog.com/game/technobabylon).

Technobabylon has three playable characters: CEL agents Charlie Regis and Max Lao, investigating a serial Mindjacker who's tapping into people's neural wiring and leaving them dead, and agoraphobic net addict Latha Sesame, who might be the Mindjacker's next target. When Charlie's past comes back to haunt him, he and his partner find themselves on opposite sides of the law with Latha's fate in the crossfire. Set in 2087 but evocative of a game made in 1987, Technobabylon mixes future and past with its immersive cyberpunk world, traditional point & click gameplay, old-school pixel art graphics by Ben Chandler (The Blackwell Epiphany, Charnel House Trilogy), professional voice acting, and atmospheric soundtrack by Nathan Allen Pinard (Gemini Rue, Oxhorn Brand Movies).

Technobabylon started out as a series of freeware episodes by indie developer James Dearden (Technocrat Games). With help from adventure game specialists Wadjet Eye Games, the story and gameplay have been refined for this commercial release. "From its beginnings as a practice project, to episodes, to a full-length game, Technobabylon has finally evolved into what I always imagined it could be, thanks to the support of Wadjet Eye and its talented members," says James Dearden. "I have long admired the studio's work and am honored to have Technobabylon included among games like Gemini Rue and Primordia."

"From the moment I saw Technobabylon, I knew it would be a perfect fit for us," says Dave Gilbert of Wadjet Eye Games. "From the cyberpunk aesthetic, to the gritty urban environments, to the fascinating characters, to the twisty-turny plot, it ticks every item on the 'stuff Dave likes' list. It's been an absolute joy working with James to bring this game to completion, and I hope everyone else enjoys it as well!"
