"Maneuver fast-paced action sequences to challenge your every gaming skill."

I really LOVE Frogware's "Sherlock" games but this query by GreyFuss worries ME also eek

Plus I am fervently hoping the game will be available from other sites than Steam ....

However, thank you very much for the info, BrownEyedTigre grin

I add my concern over the "face-paced action sequences" Sure hope there are options if I am having difficulties completing the action.... would be a real shame if they ruin the Sherlock Holmes series for me!

On a good note, Frogwares has always given the adventure gamer options instead of going full gaming console action on us. They seem to remember the roots of their games and haven't forgotten about us.

Yeah, that sounds bad.
So does this, from the blurb Ana posted...

But maybe it only means you have a choice of doing things the "action" way or the "adventure" way, depending on how you want to play it.

It would be nice if someone from Frogwares could come clarify whether those of us who have no manual dexterity whatever will be able to play and finish the game.

Hello Ladies and Gents,

it's true the game has more "action" than before, there is more than Crimes and Punishments, but it's less than a game based on skills. If you have some doubts it's for you, maybe some let's play videos could help you make your choice at the release time.

I don't feel I can be more specific than that, as everyone is different. However, Tabatha is working with us writing the English version of the game and maybe she can share with us if she felt some difficulties playing the game?

Thanks, Ana. thumbsup Looks good, and hopefully the action won't be too difficult.

Thanks for the information, thehood. Do you have an idea as to whether the action sequences are any harder or easier than a TellTale game? I find TellTale's action pretty easy to get through for the most part (though I do get try again screens from time to time smile), so if it's on that level, I can handle it.

I take that to mean that if you have no manual dexterity whatever, you won't be able to complete the game -- at least not without help from other players.

So the next question is whether or not saved games will be transferrable.

Hi,

remember there were action sequences in "The Awakened" already!

Just to remind you - watch this this (First 5+ minutes).

I'm counting on Frogwares to do it 'right' for us! smile

Re: Sherlock Holmes: The Devils's Daughter packshot and Release Date - 02/12/16 03:28 PM

Hi everyone,

As far as I have played into the latest build of the game, it is possible to skip the "actiony" puzzles as soon as they begin, if that is the player's preference.

I'm not 100% sure, however, if that option will still be there when the final version of the game is released, or if the player will be made to sweat it out for a while before they can skip. Hopefully it will be the former.

Just as a heads-up: the specs for this game are slightly higher than those for Crimes and Punishments.

Hopefully they will keep the skip feature as an option.

Good to know. Do you have the specs for Devil's Daughter?
I don't see them listed on the Frogwares website.

Thanks all! Good to see you too.

No, Jenny, I don't have the specs. All I know is that my PC huffed, puffed, swore and drooled in its valiant attempt to play The Devil's Daughter -- at which point Frogwares informed me that yes, the specs were higher than last time. lol No doubt they'll be available shortly.

Sounds great, thanks Rushes. thumbsup Hopefully, the skip option will still be there when the game is released. I do hope the required specs are only "slightly" higher, though. lol My computer shouldn't have been able to run Crimes and Punishments on the highest settings, yet somehow, miraculously, it did. Probably because most of its specs exceeded the requirements with the exception of my graphics card, which was below the requirements. I'm hoping the new game will cooperate as well, but I'll just have to wait and see. smile
