Shady Brook, a Twin Peaks-inspired mystery text adventure by indie studio Unimatrix Productions, is now available on Steam!
In Shady Brook, players take on the roles of author Jake Torrent, who moves to a small country town with a dark secret. The game fuses classic room-based explorative text game mechanics with an early 1990s-era graphical interface and can be described as a combination of interactive fiction, point-and-click adventures, visual novels, and gamebooks.

To coincide with the release of Shady Brook, another text game by the same studio has launched on Steam Greenlight: The Filmmaker, a cheesy puzzle-filled tribute to the classic Hollywood B-Movie that is set for release in November.
In The Filmmaker, players take on the role of Brianna Auberon, a young cinephile who recently suffered the loss of her father. Over the course of the game, players will guide her as she explores a haunted theater and finally comes to terms with his death.
Fans of interactive fiction are encouraged to vote for The Filmmaker on Steam Greenlight to help support the growth of text-based gaming.
