96 Mil here. We've been hard at work on a new, horror themed game for Halloween.
This journey has taken just over 3 months of constant work, and it's finally ready.
The old mill is now available to be explored; Get it now at 25% off for a special launch sale.
96 Mill is a photo-realistic horror/adventure game with the central plot revolving around demolition of an old mill, but it has some fight still left in it; The mill isn't going down without a fight, and you must discover the truth about the past as you attempt to find your boss and do your job.
Play through and see if you can discover all of the 8 unique different endings based on your in game choices. We will be adding new content in the form of new scares and at least one more ending.
We'd like to thank all of our fans for supporting us as we continue to build games. We couldn't do it with you, and we love making new things to share with you. Thank you from us at EDI Games, and have fun exploring the mill!

To answer your question, no 96 MILL doesn't require Steam.
It uses HTML5 technology and runs in your web browser on Windows, OSX, iPad, Android, Surface, toaster (if it has a decent web browser)
.
It requires no download/install process, and updates automatically.
We're currently pursuing a steam release with our publisher,
we'll let GB know when that goes live.

I just purchased this game and paid with paypal. When I click on download and play, I am told that I need a number to type in. Am I supposed to receive this in an e mail?

A PayPal account isn't required for purchase.
If you click the 'buy now with PayPal' button, and then scroll to the bottom of the page you will see a
'Pay with Debit of Credit Card' button;
which will take you through the Guest Checkout.

I would like very much to purchase this game, but without a decent walkthrough, I'm afraid I'd get stuck immediately. Is there a chance that you might write and release a walkthrough for this game? at my age (85) I need all the help I can get. LOL

I purchased the game and received a email with the key, clicked on the site put in the key and just a big 96 flashes and nothing else happens, there seems to be a problem here.??

Sorry you're having issues!
I can see that our system thinks your key has not yet been used.
No doubt you've tried this, but please re-check your key and enter it exactly
along with hyphens/dashes, and while keys are also not case-sensitive, it is
recommended they be entered all-caps.
For example, Key-Features:
065C-1BC3-A-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
-26 Characters long
-Composed of only 0-9, A-F, and hyphen characters
-four,four,one,four,four hyphenated key-parts
-All caps

Marie... after putting in the key, be patient... sometimes it takes a while to load. Give it time.

I found that the "96" flashes are normal, and after a while it stops flashing and the game begins, at least that was MY experience, Marie. I just finished the game, and I found it very entertaining, to say the least. ENJOY!

The flashing might be normal but I waited for over 2 hours and the game never started.
I'm working with EDI to try and figure out what the problem is.
I was unable to get this game to work with either my desktop computer or using my tablet.
Guess I won't be playing it anytime soon.

I'm sorry that you are having problems getting the game started, Marie. I'm sure that Raymond (the owner/developer) will get this straightened out for you. I had to contact him at: support@edigames.com, because I had some questions about gameplay, the interface, the inventory system, etc. I got immediate e-mail replies, and he explained everything in detail, and that was more than once. After I got the "hang of it", I played it to the end.
By the way, his walkthrough was awesome, but without it I never could have gotten through the game. Please keep us posted about your "game start" problem, and I hope it will be straightened out very soon.

Do you still have the link to get onto the game and your activation code?? if so go to it and activate it... the update will be there

Yes. I do have the link. So I used it to get to the site and clicked to start the game. But as I don't want to play it right now, once the in-game menu came up on screen I clicked to quit.

Winfrey is correct, if you previously purchased the game,
or if you've just purchased it new; the update is automatic.
You can verify that you have it, via the build date at the bottom left of the title screen
anything Oct. 30th onward is good to go!
The only issue you are likely to encounter if you've played 96 Mill previously
is a need to clear your browser cache; this sometimes manifests as a graphical
glitch (wrong images in wrong places).
