How Many Games Are You Playing ??

How Many Games Are You Playing ?? - 01/10/17 04:18 PM

As is usual for me, I have several games on the go at the same time evil

At the moment they are :

Adventures .. Profound Red and a re-play of Noctropolis

Casuals .. Beyond Star Descendant
[And I also play one of my many Match 3 games for a time every day.]

RPGs .. A re-play of Neverwinter Nights (the full caboodle).

So it's no wonder there's plenty of dust lurking around my abode !!
But do I care when there's only me living here now to see it ???? rotfl

I am playing Freddy Fish with my grandson and Heaven's Hope for me.

I am playing Profound Red. That's it. I try to only play one game a time, as I find that I lose my focus if I do otherwise. It's the same way for me with books. wave

Sounds like you're having a lot of fun, Mad.
Mostly I've been playing casual games -- and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Just after Christmas I bought Dreamfall Chapters, so before playing it I thought I'd start at the beginning with "The longest Journey."

Mad, one of my favorite sayings is, "A clean house is the sign of a broken computer."

Well I don't consider my house to be "unclean" because I don't count dust as dirt lol

But I will nevertheless subscribe to your theory, Draclvr wink

blush 'shamed to say I'm hoarding a couple right now... like a squirrel with nuts, saving and savoring for just the right time (maybe Spring): Barrow Hill Dark Path & Profound Red. In the meantime, I still play rounds and rounds of Scrabble; and go to Chief's recommended site AllStar Puzzles for picture and word game quickies; and Solitaire.

Jenny100 Your mention of jigsaws reminded me of an old fave of mine: Wrebbit puzzles for PC on CDs. If you're not already familiar, you first piece together a large puzzle on a felt tabletop. Once done, you continue another part of the game when you actually enter the place whose pic you just completed. Wrebbit makes physical styrofoam(?) 3D puzzles, but in the mid 90s there were 4 created to be played on the computer: a Bavarian castle, a Victorian mansion, the Orient Express and Notre Dame Cathedral. Also a fifth one (of Kincaid's Lamplight cottage) that wasn't as good.

I think that's a good idea - then if there's a drought of the kind of adventure games you like, you will have something at the ready. wave

Yes I have those. It would be nice if Wrebbit updated the computer versions to run on new computers. The Kinkade 'Lamplight Manor' puzzle didn't have the little adventure game to solve after you finished the puzzle, which was disappointing. I liked the jigsaw puzzle part better than Orient Express though. Orient Express had so many teeny tiny pieces. They all have patches that seem to be available on the Web Archive ***here***. These puzzles were very popular among Gameboomers back when people used Windows 98. I'm not sure if the games work in XP any more.

I also have some of Wrebbit's styrofoam 3D puzzles, but the pieces had a tendency to fall apart even when the puzzle was new, with the picture coming off the styrofoam. The computer versions were less messy. I don't know if Wrebbit's recent puzzles stick together any better than the older ones.

The jigsaw puzzles I was talking about in my previous post were physical flat ones that were Christmas gifts. I think my favorite type were those made by Springbok years ago, but those aren't made anymore.

So true, Marian. I only have handful of favorites, so for me it's like the famine's ending & the game-feast is beginning. And maybe by year's end... more of the "Crown" series. grin
