March 9, 2017- Coral Spring, Fl- Broken Bunny Studios is proud to announce that their game “Dark Hope” has been placed on Steam Greenlight for public review.

You wake up in a small room with a massive headache in a strange facility seemingly devoid of life. You find on a table next to you a photo of a child and a medical chart with a bleak outlook. Who is this child? Who are you? Where are you and why? What was that strange noise?

Inspired by classic puzzle adventure games like Myst , Dark Hope is a puzzle adventure game set in a steampunk world where electricity started and ended its existence with the light bulb. The vast majority of the puzzle are environmental mechanical puzzles and discovering clues as to the nature of this strange facility. Dark Hope will tell you the story of your own past and the story of the crimes that have occurred by discovering small story elements that you must piece together while playing.

We wanted to make a game that challenged people mentally, one where you carry the story and the puzzles with you all day until you get home to see if you found the solution. If you have ever experienced one of those moments where you solve a puzzle because it finally makes sense and not because you just lucked out that is the best feeling in the world. ”- Chris lead developer.

While the game is still in early development A small alpha demo is being made available to press and publishers for review. This alpha does not contain any story elements to avoid publishing spoilers and is intended to show off the puzzles to be found within the game.

Dark Hope has found its way onto Greenlight and being the niche game that it is needs the support of the community in order to pass. Every vote Dark Hope receives is one vote closer to being able to release onto the largest gaming market known to man.

Happy Gaming!

Not a good start. The Alpha Demo isn't working for me. Can't do anything, I think I am in a room but the sound makes me think I am in a train boxcar. No controls work, can't move or interact.

Edit:
I deleted the game and re-Unzipped the Demo and it seems to be working now. Thanks

Re: Dark Hope Alpha Demo and Greenlight - 03/10/17 01:25 AM

Just an FYI. The alpha posted are nightly builds of the first small section the the game

The 3/9 build has a now known bug with the final puzzle that will be correct on the 3/10 build.

Welcome to alpha!

How does one know which build they are playing in the Demo?

Todays 3/9 has a bug, Greyfuss. The build he will create tomorrow is 3/10. You have to have 3/9.

Hi Broken Bunny

Are you planning on changing the Interact (E) key with a Left Mouse click in your final build or at least try it with a Beta Build? I find using the E Key very clumsy.

Re: Dark Hope Alpha Demo and Greenlight - 03/10/17 04:01 PM

Yes I do. It is just that the clicks interfere with my software when it's inside the editor. So for now it is stuck on e so I can work without the mouse doing crazy things.

I hate E as well

Wanted to post an update to the demo https://brokenbunnystudios.itch.io/ is not available as nightly builds and using the itchio updater only updates what is needed.. We are giving away 30 keys and selling 20 for what we are calling extreme early alpha early early access, (read that as not even 50 percent done yet) but we area already getting great useful feedback and adjusting puzzles as needed... currently game play stands at around three hours for a semi skilled player

On my computer, Win 7 64, all I get is a black screen when trying to open the game so not working for me.

It can take a minute to load. I would recommend updating to the latest version and launching again or choosing a lower graphic setting.

I got in B-Bunny.

Quick question: I hope you are going to offer an option to not have the head bob and footsteps in the final version???

Re: Dark Hope Alpha Demo and Greenlight - 03/07/19 12:25 AM

Good point. I have been debating having the headbob in the first place. I will make it an option. If all goes well tonight we should have some more easily exploitable areas tonight
