A First Look at

Viktor,
A Steampunk Adventure

So far, so very good.

Viktor is a boar who just got sacked from his street sweeping job in the Austria-Hungary empire, so being mildly megalomanic, he decides to respond by becoming Emperor. But before the conquering can begin, its home for a bath. As you do.

If the first part is any indication, it will be a quirky point and click romp. I love the look, and being able to change the background music by finding records and using the phonograph icon is a little embellishment that particularly appeals. Viktor grunts and snorts, with speech bubbles providing the translation, and having finished the bath and evaded the landlady (a tad risque-ly) we are at the dirigible hub to see what comes next.

It has piqued my interest indeed.

It is VERY quirky. Also very politically incorrect! (Sometimes I felt it overstepped the mark a little, but of course that's down to individual points of view.) It's definitely unique, I'm enjoying it and it even made me laugh out loud a couple of times. Love the complete craziness of it all. Being an angry warthog who goes round randomly shouting at things and kicking things is definitely fun!

I think it's safe to say that with this game, the world now has a little more!

(Can I just point out, for the record, that I myself am not a huge fan of political correctness on the whole.)

Also, considering Viktor's personality, it would be weird for him to ever be politically correct!

We tried not to thrive on shock value like South Park or Drawn Together, but the world is a bunch of national stereotypes since Viktor, like a typical person from the Balkans, sees the world like that

To be fair it's only in the pub that I felt things got a little gross, but for the most part it's been extremely funny and enjoyable

Love meeting all these historical characters too.

Now that I've completed it I have to say, it was only really in the pub toilet that some of the humour was a bit off (for me) - since that location occurred quite early in the game it gave me a false impression of the game's humour overall.

Great fun, and some terrific puzzles.
