Silent Footsteps -- A first look by flotsam

Carol Reed has become a bit of a favourite among many GBers, and while I am not as enamoured as some, I have played a few and found them to be engaging in both play and style.

I understand the maker of this game has connections to Carol Reed, so it is probably not surprising that my first impressions of Silent Footsteps were around how much it reminded me of those games. Which is not a criticism, only an observation.

And a good one at that. While I am not very far in, I imagine that if you like setting forth with Carol, you will enjoy walking in these footsteps. There are the same real world environments, the same static screens, all played from a point and click first person perspective.

It's gentle (so far), although I am currently poking around in a cemetery which may or may not be good.

I will tell you more when I am done, but so far so good.

Thank you so much for the positive first look! I'm glad it reminded you of Carol Reed, even if you don't play them a lot, since it was made both to be a celebration of those games, and serve as an inspiration. Hopefully it won't feel like a rip off, but more of an homage so to speak. And I also hope you'll enjoy the rest of it. I've been VERY nervous about this, being my first and all, but I feel a bit better now. Thanks again!

I most enjoyed Silent Footsteps and believe Miss Kim's first adventure into adventure game making was a successful one. Several familiar locations and easter eggs. Look forward to more games from Frostlind Games. Who knows, maybe in the future we will see some cross overs with cameos of Rebecca or Carol in each others game. Thanks Miss Kim, good work.

Just purchased. Really looking forward to playing

Just this week I enjoyed playing SF through for the 2nd time. Only needed one hint this time around!
Good thing I finished, as my PC completely crashed for the first time ever, and I had to wipe it clean, and install WIn7 and all the updates again from scratch. Then the drivers. NOW I'm re-installing my games. Well, anyway, I loved the game. Twice, in fact :-)

Wow, never had a crash like that myself. Formatting and re-installing yes, but by choice. Let's hope the problem wasn't the game!

I have a feeling that if I play it in 10 years or so, I will need a lot of hints.
