Wadjet Eye Releases the First Unavowed Trailer - 12/06/17 08:01 PM

Wadjet Eye Games will release this urban fantasy adventure for Windows in 2018.

Watch the trailer here.

Check out the Official website here.

Quote:
With dark forces hell-bent on destroying New York City, it's always been up to the Unavowed to keep the evil in check. For centuries this supernatural squad has quietly protected humanity by driving hungry demons back into the shadows. But something has changed. Their age-old methods are no longer working. New blood is required to protect the mundane world from a threat stronger than any these crime fighters have faced -- and that's where you come in.

Taking inspiration from story-heavy RPGs like Dragon Age while staying true to Wadjet Eye's point-and-click roots, Unavowed is an ambitious evolution for the developer of the Blackwell mystery series and publisher of Gemini Rue, Technobabylon, and other acclaimed indie adventures. We'll have a lot more to say leading up to launch, but here are a few choice tidbits to get you excited:

• Make decisions about the player character's gender and background that influence the storyline.
• Build a party from four secondary characters whose unique skills change puzzle solutions.
• Feast your eyes on gorgeously gritty pixel art graphics with double the pixels of any previous Wadjet Eye game. (That's right, we're talking 640x360 resolution! The future is now!)

Happy Gaming!

Hurrah for Wadjet Eye, which usually comes closer to my idea of perfect synergy between game play and story than most developers, indie or otherwise.

I wonder how and why the decision to double the resolution got made.

8dognight, I read that it's because it allows for more detailed pixel art. In the past, the resolution used was decided upon based on creative and budgetary decisions. This is what I have gathered based on reading forums where Dave Gilbert has posted.

For this game he decided to go with a different resolution - nothing too drastic, but allowing for more detail.
