This retro point and click adventure game is designed to simultaneously test your grey matter and tickle your funny bone with a wide variety of puzzles, multitudinous alien and robotic lifeforms to interact with, and more parody elements than you could shake a stick at (if you are in that habit of shaking sticks at things, that is). Of course no self-respecting comedy sci-fi game is complete without some lunatic trying to take over the galaxy, so we have one of them, too!

Developers “Team Disaster” estimate that, Including social media and adventure game forums, this game is hotly anticipated by a worldwide following of up to a dozen (though up to half of those are probably bots) They also guarantee that this game will take you an indeterminate amount of time to complete. Good question. The short answer is almost definitely, but not for a while.

There are two reasons for this:

1- I want to first have it on the truly indie-friendly sites like Itch, GameJolt and FireFlower
2- Will take a bit of work to add some nice achievements to the game - which I really want to do for the Steam release

Also we are looking at how feasible it is to release on other formats, so that's our first priority.

I do intend to purchase this newest game of yours, but I will need a decent text walkthrough in order to play it. At 86 yrs old I "ain't" as sharp as I used to be so I need all the help I can get. LOL I wish you luck in all of your ventures.

Hey Sandy!

Firstly, I'd like to say that you still playing adventure games at 86 is absolutely brilliant!!

I hope I'm still doing it at that age.

As to a walkthrough - I'll put it on my list to do (we did actually make one some time ago during development but have updated a lot of things in the game since then), but the internet seems to be full of people who are able to solve games and put walkthroughs up with incredible speed. We'll see how does it first!

Thanks for the Act 2 WT, Dave. I'm almost done with Act 1. HOWEVER,
I'm stuck on the "Spinning Color Wheels" puzzle. can't get all the colors set correctly. If there is a tip you can give me on this one I certainly would appreciate it. I apologize to Ana if my post should be listed in "Hints",and I'll make sure that from now on I WILL post these questions in "Hints".

Glad you got there in the end Sandy - sorry my walkthrough wasn't clear enough!

The game has been updated to v1.01 due to some small / rare bugs being found. Players using v1.00 have no need to update unless they actually encounter problems (savegame files will almost definitely not work between versions unfortunately).

We are working on an updated version of the demo (the old one is from 2012 and we have updated quite a bit since then!) - that should be available on Itch within the next few days.

We will also be putting the game up on FireFlower Games in the near future too.

As you downloaded before we did the update, you will have v1.00. Even if you encounter one of the bugs that have been fixed you may not even have realised (they are very small bugs!).

There is one quite nasty bug; however it requires an extremely specific set of actions to activate. This was the report of how it happened (it's near the end of Act III, hidden as puzzle spoiler):

There's no way in-game to tell which version, but if you still have your installer, cd-dhamsb-1.0.1.0-setup.exe is v1.01, cd-dhamsb-1.0.0.0-setup.exe is v1.00.

GOG - not unless they change their mind

Steam - yes, not sure exactly when - had been intending to do a shiny version with Achievements and Trading Cards, but in the interests of using our time to develop the next Captain Disaster game instead we may just release it without extras, which we'll obviously be able to do quicker. I'll announce it when we make a final decision!
Humble - assuming they accept the game then yes.

Hope to be able to give more definite information soon!

CaptainD, don't feel bad. GoG has turned their nose up to a ton of developers I know. It's ridiculous!

Steam, don't rush your game on their without the achievements and trading cards. It's a turnoff for lots of Steam users.

I will say for GOG that at least their reply gives the impression that they have at least looked at your game and even though they're rejecting they do so nicely and give you positive comments about the game too. It's far better than a standard rejection letter. They felt CD was "too niche" for them and I can't entirely blame them for that.

Still, onwards and upwards! Thanks for the advice re: Steam too.

VERY happy with that review. Of course I'm looking forward (with slight trepidation as it doesn't pay to get cocky) to seeing what Flotsam made of it here on GB.
