The Room: Old Sins

The Room: Old Sins - 01/19/18 12:22 AM

A new Room game is coming out next week. A preview is here:
The Room: Old Sins
I love these types of games. I am currently playing The House of Da Vinci, and have Returner 77 ready to go. Another game that is very similar is Riddlord, though it is no where near as polished as the first Room games.

No, I don’t think so. They are all games I played or am playing on my iPad.

GreyFuss, I think The House of Da Vinci, and Riddlord are on Steam for PC

wave2 Thanks Winfrey, I just checked Steam, as you said, and you are right, they do have it but it states that Riddlord doesn't release until March 1st. I have already played House of DaVinci which is a very good game BTW.

Thanks for checking on that, Winfrey. The House of Da Vinci is a very good game, GreyFuss. Riddlord has some good puzzles, but not much clarity about what to do next. Also, the game mechanics are clumsy so that I missed some solutions at first just because couldn’t figure out how to manipulate the object. Hopefully the PC port will sort that out.

I have almost (But not quite) finished House of Da Vinci and love it. I would like to begin again without finishing the first game but can't figure out how. Can it be done?

BrownEyedTigre: Thank you twice; once for the directions, which worked easily, and once for not mentioning that I am much too old to have missed that possibility.

lol I've looked for my phone while I'm talking on it. I'd never make fun of it!

Hi everyone. I just wanted to post that I got this game tonight and I love it already. It's neat; beautiful and intriguing like the other The Room games, and yet with a newer, "solve the mystery" feel to it. I am playing it on my iPhone, so the text is a little hard to read-I'm hoping to be able to play it on my iPad mini once I get a new one. (My current one is an older generation and I can't play it on this one, unfortunately!). Still, I am enjoying this game, and just wanted to pop in and share. : )

I have not had time to start the game yet, but I am looking forward to it.
All the diary and letter entries can be found here. It is not a walkthrough, just a collection of all the text portion of the games so you can read them at your leisure. You might be able to enlarge the screen to see them easier.

I subscribe to App Unwrapper, that’s how I find out about these games and updates. They review all types of puzzle tablet games, but I just watch for ‘escape the room ones’ and my first person adventures.
I have a great list of games for the iPad if anyone is interested. Just PM me.

Does anyone have a clue as to when or if there will be a PC version of this game? Both I and my Ipad are too old to play the game in its Ios10 mode.

From what I can tell, it doesn't look like there will be a PC release, but someone please correct me if this is not the case.

Going by Mobygames dates,

The Windows version of The Room came out 2 years after the iPad version.

The Windows version of The Room 2 came out 3 years after the iPad version.

The Room 3 came out in 2015 on iPad, and according to the Fireproof Games website (the developer website) they hope to start work on a PC version in 2018.

So don't hold your breath, but there's almost sure to be one eventually. Not soon though, and quite likely not this year.

Good to know that there will most likely be a PC version at some point.

Not that good; it sounds as though I may be 96 years old before it happens.
