Hi,

this series changed my opinion about cartoonish games. Still I do not like so much games that fall mid way cartoonish and 'photorealistic', for me they must have appearance clearly either style.

The other thing this series introduced me to was the way the story was affected by player's acts and decisions. That let you better immerse to the game and you really started to care about the characters much deeper.

I hope the final paragraph of the season introduction about the save files refers to the final season as well. Really looking forward to it but not buying it until the season is complete. I'm not a fan of episodic publishing format.

TLJ, that's interesting, most of Telltale's games look like moving comic book images to me. I think their games are beautiful, and they get better looking as they progress. Batman the Enemy Within was their nicest looking game to date, and now The Walking Dead 4 looks even better than that. thumbsup I generally favor a realistic style, but I like variety as well. Otherwise, I think it would get monotonous. smile

Glad you've enjoyed the series, in spite of not preferring the art style. smile I agree that the stories are very immersive.

I just pre-ordered the game myself. Looking forward to it. happydance

venus, I expressed myself poorly. I did and do like the artistic style of TWD, that's what I called cartoonish but moving comic book images or interactive comic book describes it much better.

What I basicly meant was that I like games to have clearly that comic book style or realistic but not mixing them. Or characters and backgrounds do not match in style. Sometimes the characters are so much less detailed or their movement is so clumsy that it spoils the atmosphere and immersion.

The best example of photorealistic style game I've played is Assassin's Creed: Syndicate taking place in Victorian London. It is very immersive as all the hundreds of persons appearing on streets, houses and factories do their things and even talk with each other something meaningful and how everything changes according to time of the day. It's a pity there is no sightseeing mode without any violence in the game. The newest one, AC: Origins, taking place in ancient Egypt does have such. Not played or bought that one yet so can't give you any opinion how immersive it is.

Funny when you refer to me with pseudonym TLJ and that's not the first time. I definitely know where that comes to your mind but actually it's TJL coming from my initials. lol

Enjoy TWD4 from the very start, I'll wait till it's complete! smile

TJL, okay, I see what you mean. I don't really notice the mismatched style, but then again, I don't usually notice "poor animation" when people complain about this either. Maybe it's because I only play adventure games, or because I've been playing games since the 80's, so pretty much anything new to me looks great, though some games look better than others for sure. I do tend to notice when the animation is especially good, however. I know what you mean, some of those action games are among the most beautiful, but because the style of game play doesn't appeal to me, I can't play them. frown I really wish I could play Detroit: Become Human, but it's not available for the PC. That's something I would get if I could, that and Until Dawn.

Ahhh, sorry about your name. lol I thought I typed it correctly, and I know what it's supposed to be, of course. I think that I've probably typed TLJ so often in other situations that even when I'm mindful about typing your name correctly, I end up typing what I'm used to anyway. lol I'll try and look at what I've typed more carefully the next time. grin

Thanks, hope you enjoy it when it is complete! I used to be the same way, preferring to wait for episodic games to be finished. However, I like playing episodes now, as they are easier to play all at once, especially since I'm generally replaying something on the side at the same time. grin But you'll get the full experience when it's out, which will be great. thumbsup
