Wow, that was quick - from CE to SE in less than a month!
Bought this game last month, couldn't wait to play cause the series is my all time favorite. Had read all the reviews, but wanted to decide for myself.

The voice of Emily is very poor acted and what she says is childish! I would think the developers could at least use a better actor who sounded more realistic and not like she's reading from a script.

It's best to describe the game as a stand alone and not related to the prior series which is disappointing. To bad they didn't stick with the best of the best!

Like someone else said, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Actually, it's been a month since the CE, which was released on March 14th. Time flies.

Thanks for weighing in on the game; this seemed to be a "love it or hate it" game, for sure. I still haven't looked at it, but I will eventually.

I'm definitely in the minority because I also bought the CE in a sale and really enjoyed it. I played the others in the series but can't remember a thing about them so, for me, it was a stand-alone game

!

I also find that my mood determines whether or not I enjoy a game. I tried the demo of a CE (whose name escapes me at the moment) and it just didn't grab me, so I passed. When it was released as a SE, I had a coupon that was about to expire, so I picked it up, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hi Susan

Agreed everyone has a different idea of what they like in a game. I did somewhat like the game as a stand alone only and not as part of the past series. But as mentioned about Emily's voice acting and what she said, was way to childish for such a well presented game!

Perhaps the developers should have given the game a different name and not part of "House of 1000 doors" series. Just my thought.

Hi, Spankie!

It's like that old saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure"

! I've read rave reviews about a game, so I downloaded the demo and couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about.

I sometimes find that the sequels aren't as good as the original while, in other cases, they just keep getting better and better. If I enjoy the puzzles, I usually enjoy the games. I also enjoy the interactive HO scenes, along with the option to play "Match 3" or put together a jigsaw puzzle if I just can't seem to find that elusive last HO.

I'm definitely in the minority on this game because I think it only received 2.9 out of 5 stars on BF.

Evil Inside isn't completely horrible, but it doesn't have the same "feel" as the other 1000 Doors games. I also didn't care for the bonus game of the CE, which took place in a "Wild West theme park" type setting with cardboard cutouts of people propped up. I think it was a sort of prequel to the main game and you played as a different character.

I didn't like how the main game doesn't have you playing as an established character you met or played in the previous games. Instead she was a stranger with a "special power" and had to save everyone. It smelled like a Mary Sue insertion rather than being faithful to the spirit of the original series.
