Looks like another good one from Mad Head Games. Creepy. Several puzzles in just the first scene.

Mad Head is always on my interest list when it comes to games. It's obvious that they want to deliver something more than the same old, same old - and they are succeeding.

Just ordered it. My kind of game.

This game is REALLY weird and creepy, but it sure is addicting. I'm holding out for a better sale so I put it on my "Must Have" list and, hopefully, Wednesday's sale will be half price for members or "buy one get one free". I still have a few other SEs that I picked up with punch card coupons to play in the meantime, so I'm not gameless !

I'm glad to hear you have some games to tide you over until a good sale comes along.

Maze is certainly getting great player reviews; there are 40 of them now on Big Fish, and it seems to me that this game has a higher approval rating right out of the chute than anything else released on Big Fish so far this year. Kudos to Mad Head Games.

I liked the game but when I got to the maze part,I couldn't do it.
Getting to old for this I guess. My eyes and reflexes are not what they use to be.

I hear you on that one, Cathy. It's a good thing, though, that these games include skips for those who need them.

I didn't see a skip for the first maze.

Actually, I don't think there is one - I've played about half the game now so I think I know what you are referring to. Sorry about that.

WOW! This is a definite winner!!! I've been deep into my genealogy the past few days and decided it's time to come get back to my games for a bit. Well, I totally forgot to even do the trial on this one until now. This is AWESOME!!!
I have to admit I was peeking through my fingers during some parts of the trial. I love the little girl's voice. I'm using my 2 game credits on this one and waiting for a better sale for the rest of the games I want to purchase.

The perfect game to play during evening hours.......in the dark..........alone.

For once, procrastination definitely paid off, because I just picked it up in today's sale and it's downloading now. I'm going to replay the demo of "Sea of Lies: Tide of Treachery" to refresh my memory and, if I enjoy it as much as I think I did, I'll grab that one as well.

Remember to check tomorrow morning to see if today's code is still valid because another CE will be released and, if it's a good one, we certainly don't want to pay full price .

Today is a great sale, Susan. I haven't checked out the new Sea of Lies game yet, but this would certainly be a good time to pick it up.

Hopefully tomorrow's CE will be a good one.

Just finished the main game of Maze: Subject 360. This is the best game I have played in a very long time.
I enjoy the genre, and Mad Head has created a very spooky atmosphere.
Unique storyline and not your usual HOPA.
I have been playing in short segments, as I really don't want it to be over.
I am glad this game has been so well received at Big Fish, as I want MORE just like this one.

I'm so glad you liked the game, Jeanne. I'm thinking this is probably the beginning of a new series by Mad Head, so I'm hopeful that there will be more to come.

Just started this game and agree with all of you, great new innovative game and I also hope they produce more. Hey Cathy1 did you make it through the Maze yet? If not, just keep hitting the *Hint button and it will tell you were to go next.

*Depending on the Game Mode you choose you will have to wait until XX time for the Hint to recharge, but it will get you through.

I played through the Demo yesterday. "Weird" doesn't really do this game justice. I decided not to buy it because it is not my idea of fun to be imprisoned by an crazed mini-me, and to being set upon with sudden death by sneak attack, drowning, fire or a wall of spinning saw blades. I've encountered depressing environments and danger in many (most? ) games before (Sanitarium springs to mind, and I loved that one!) In them, you usually get mocked by the gloating Puppetmaster who has you imprisoned or on the run. The fun is in escaping the entrapment and vanquishing the predatory villain. But this game was more abusive and a bit too personal for me, and having the villain be a sadistic, insane little girl child too unsettling. It made me sad. Far more than an Escape-the-Room game, it is more like having the starring role of victim in Saw III. If that is your cup of tea, boy is this the game for you. I recommend people play the Demo first.

Did you finish the jigsaw puzzle in the extras? After you do that, there is a suggestion that there may well be more to come in this series.

I've been playing this game for about an hour now and have found it to be one of the best games I have ever played. It stands out in its originality and it must have taken a huge amount of work making it. I do hope there are sequels.

Good news, a new Maze game is in the making, I beta tested the game and it will in the same line as the 1st one,YES, the working title is: Maze - The Broken Tower.
I will be buying this one when the Finished product is out, I can hardly wait.

Hi Starcom, I edited out the specific comments regarding the beta test per the posted rules stickied on top of the forum. Since games change, sometimes drastically between beta and release it is not fair to developers to comment and possibly sway someones decision to purchase based on something not in the final release. Glad you are looking forward to it though and that it's in the works!

I just purchased this game because of the reviews. I've been out of the loop as far as these types of games go, so this one peeked my interest. However, I've noticed that even tho it's a CE, the guide isn't showing up. I've been to the forum but all I see regarding it is 2 other people having the same proble, but no answer to as why. Does anyone know why there is no guide in CE.

That's really weird, Flo. I see that the folks experiencing this problem had it occur after there was an update to the game. I had no problems accessing the guide but I played the game last year so it was probably a different version.

I think your only recourse is to write to Customer Support, and I would be interested to hear what they have to say.

There are lots of posts in the Big Fish forum about how updating the game to the latest version broke the guide.

Some people in the forum were asking how to "downgrade" back to the original version of the game, which had been working.

I'm curious to see if I download the game now, the strategy guide will be accessible. Maybe I will try it later on today.

If it were me, I think I would also try contacting the developer to see if they have a solution to the problem.

I wonder if a fresh install works while an upgrade doesn't.
Would uninstalling, using CCleaner, then reinstalling work better than an upgrade?
Or does the "upgrade" only work properly on certain versions of Windows or with certain video cards?

I just downloaded and installed the game - first time I downloaded the game on this computer, as my old computer went belly up last month.

Went to the strategy guide and it's gone; all I see is a black screen.

I wrote to Customer Support to see what they have to say.

Old OS was Windows 7 Home; new OS is Windows 7 Pro.



Okay, I did a little more research and looked at the files for the game - and the strategy guide folder just isn't there. It appears to me that someone must have uploaded the update and failed to include the folder for the strategy guide - if this is indeed the case, then someone on Big Fish's end just needs to re-upload the update with the guide included. I will write to them about this.

Thanks Marian for looking into this. It was a stupid error to make especially since it was for the CE. I got through it by using the hints, on the bonus now. Hopefully the guide will be there for the next one and they get the kinks out before it goes on the shelf.

I think whoever uploaded the update was thinking it was an SE update rather than a CE update, unfortunately. I wrote to Mad Head yesterday via their contact page about this issue as well - it's worth a try.

I hope they get it straightened out. I haven't played the game yet but I do have it.

I will bug Customer Support about it if they don't resolve it. Since part of the reason to pay more for a CE is the strategy guide, it's no small thing that it is missing. There could very well be a renewed surge of interest in this game when the sequel is released, as well.

Two very good points. Hopefully they'll fix it so we all don't have to start asking for refunds right?.

Right. I played through the game last year and the strategy guide was there. As I said before, it appears that it just needs to be uploaded/integrated with the game since the update. If that is indeed the case, it should be a relatively simple thing to fix.

Marian - any news on this?

Unfortunately I have nothing new to report. I will probably try writing to Big Fish again about this issue.
