Don't know if I'll be allowed to post this, but...
WARNING about this game. I came to the end of the bonus game, where I had to unlock a door. Had a key, was supposed to do one more thing, did it, came back, and - no key! You can't go anywhere else or do anything else. They won't even let you find the collectibles you missed! This is about the worst thing that could happen to a game. It "might" work by starting a new profile, but am not in the mood right now. Have contacted BF about this.
Just thought people should know this might happen.

This problem is affecting many people, Laurette. It's all over the BF forum for the game, unfortunately.
The developers are aware of it and are working to get a patch released as soon as they can.
I think Mad Head makes great games and it's a shame that this glitch has affected so many people.

The update is here, Laurette.
Exciting news! A new version of Rite of Passage: Heart of the Storm Collector's Edition is now available on the website. This update includes the following:
- A fix for the disappearing airplane key in the bonus game.
- A fix for the previous issue where the hose didn't reach the third spot in the barn fire.
- A fix for the missing task bar at the watermill.
This update should show up on the left-hand side of your Big Fish Games app under 'Updates.' If you're not seeing that, just follow the steps below:
1) Open your app and make sure you're signed into your account.
2) Click on the 'Options' COG on the top right-hand side of your screen.
3) Click on the 'Downloads' tab.
4) Select 'Manually' and click 'Check For Updates.'
The disappearing key didn't affect all players, but thankfully the update has now been released.

Just to let people know that the update does NOT work for most people. The key at the end still disappears so you are unable to finish the game. I have played the game with two profiles and in both cases the game cannot be completed. The manual update does not work, so save your money until there is a fix available.

And some people played the entire game without having the key disappear at all.

I must be one of the lucky ones because I waited until the update was released to buy the game, and I didn't have a problem with the key disappearing in the bonus game. I'm sure you don't want to play through a third time but, if you do, try uninstalling and reinstalling first to see if that makes a difference.
If it's any consolation, there is only a few minutes remaining from the point where you got stuck, but you are still entitled to a refund if you can't finish.

Hi Susie, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling,but no joy. My old profiles are still there, even after using a registry cleaner, and the game is still stuck at the same point. Think I'll ask for a refund. Thanks.

You need to delete the profile separately. It never deletes with the game.

There have only been a couple of games that I couldn't finish and BFG gave me a coupon for another CE both times. I did play a few twice (I was really enjoying them and wanted to see how they ended) because there were bugs that prevented you from moving on if you performed certain things out of order (which, IMHO, should never happen), but I did manage to finish them.
If you explain to Big Fish Customer Service that you really don't want to play the game a third time, I don't think you'll have any trouble getting a coupon for another CE.

It would appear that the update for this game was only for Mac, and that the PC update has not yet been released. My mistake - I didn't realize that the update only covered the Mac.

I must be one of the lucky ones for a change. I didn't have any problems playing the main game or the bonus game, and assumed it was because I waited until after the update was released to buy it. Of course, that might explain why so many PC users were still losing the key in the bonus game even after installing the update
!
BTW, I find it strange that an update was released for the Mac and not the PC because it's usually the other way around.

Susan, I'm glad to hear that you were fortunate and got through the whole game without problems.
I find it a bit strange about the Mac update too. Maybe it was easier to fix?
