Two Worlds 2: Pirates of the Flying Fortress - 09/22/12 01:10 AM
I've been playing this game for several weeks now and am enjoying it very much ... Except: I'm doing the Legend of the Cartographer quest. I need to awaken a monster by playing a tune on a harp. However, I don't have a clue how to play the harp. I don't have a manual to tell me how. I poke around several keys, the time runs out and I haven't awoken even a mouse. Can anyone give me a crash course on harp playing?
in advance.

Ana, I've been playing those keys but I have no idea in which order I'm supposed to press them.
When the music is starts some bubbles fall down 4 tubes on the right of my screen but I don't know what the bubbles mean. Thanks for the effort. I'm not musically inclined in real life either.

Thanks Ana
Rowan, I have that exact same problem with music in games.

This is a game breaker for me.
I've been trying this for three days now and just don't get it. Other than randomly pounding on those 4 keys I have no idea what else to do. It's too bad because I was really having fun with this game up until now.

Rowan, I don't know if this will help, but there are some YouTube videos showing the playing of musical instruments; here are just two of them:
Music playing Playing instruments When you watch that second link, read the second comment posted under the video, as there is more explanation as to what to do.

Thanks Marian
Rowan, is there no one around that might be able to do it for you? Hubby does my music puzzles. Sometimes just leaving it alone for a few days and then going back to it helps.

Thanks, Marian and Looney for trying to help. I've checked all the links you've given me but so far I continue to be unsuccessful. I don't think you need to be musical to do this but probably just need agile fingering on the keyboard. That is where I'm stumped. Hubby doesn't know how either. He can play the bagpipes in real life but that doesn't help here.
I'm giving it a rest now and will let you know if I ever make it. At this point only an accidental success is possible.

Rowan, did you get the score for that harp playing, from Maren, in a previous quest, according to The gamepressure walkthrough? I remember playing music in 2 worlds 2, (not the pirates)to open a door, and it had nothing to do with playing music, just using the few keys indicated and Oh! surprise, the door opened! But push any button, it does not work without the music sheet.
My question is a stupid question, forget it if you had everything you needed.

Thanks Jacline, that is a great question. You never know when it is one small thing keeping someone from progressing.

I have the music sheet as well as the harp. Thanks for the effort though. I know it's probably frustrating to all of you who are trying to help. You guys are great.
I remember the music puzzle from the main game (not the expansion) and I got it accidentally. I'm hoping for the same accidental miracle but maybe I need to sprout angel wings to play the harp.
