KIngdoms of Amalur: Reckoning questions - 02/15/14 08:42 PM

Hi, I did a search & couldn't find any post with this game's name in the subject. Maybe I don't know how to search here.

So, I've been playing this game since a few days & wanted to ask a few questions.

1. Is there any main quest that would cancel or make any side quest unavailable if you do it?

2. I've noticed that you can not use bow & arrow while in stealth. Would this be possible later on?

Hugh, if you type "amalur" into the search box you will find a couple of threads. I scanned them though, and did not see an answer to your question. A couple of members played this for a bit though, so perhaps they will remember. wave

I played this game through a couple of times and I believe that the side quests stay there always. I'm pretty sure you can return to any area and complete a side quest at any time during the game.

As far as the stealth thing I just don't know. I don't use stealth that much or a bow and arrow for that matter. To me, using a bow in stealth doesn't seem logical as stealth is meant to sneak around undetected and if you use a weapon in stealth it is to get up close so, logically, you would want to use a dagger. In my opinion, using a bow, would defeat the purpose of stealth.

Thank you, looney4labs & oldman.

I went to advanced search & typed "reckoning" & later "kingdoms of amalur" & chose 'subject only' & couldn't find any post. Maybe I did something wrong.

For me, stealth also means hiding in the shadows and attacking from where the enemies can't see you. And you can do that in Skyrim & maybe in Oblivion & a few other RPG's as well. But I guess it's OK since some enemies actually loose interest when you shoot them with an arrow & then outrun them when they chase you.
It's good to know that any main quest won't cancel or make any side quests unavailable. I always hated that in other games.

Hugh, don't go to advanced search. Just type amalur in search at the top of this forum and you should get several threads. I did. wave luck

Alright, thanks. I'll only search it simply, next time : )

I've been having this weird problem now. I was playing when the lights went out. I don't know if that's the reason. Every time I right click a weapon, armor etc, the context menu appears for a very short time before disappearing again : (

Hugh, did you try rebooting your computer? I've had weird things happen after having a power outage. luck

Yes, I rebooted but the problem persisted. Also, more weird things are happening. Like at times I have to press the keyboard keys more than once for something to happen. I'm considering of re-installing the game but I'm not sure where my saved files are. There is a folder in 'My Documents' called 'Reckoning.' It seems to have some settings file but I can't see the words 'saved files' anywhere. Could this folder have my saved files? I'm a non-steam player.

Edit: Alright, I think I've found the save files : )

Let us know if re-installing helps. Maybe something was corrupted when the power went out. luck
