Well, despite the towering stack of not yet played games on my table, I "re-bought" Risen this week - because the price at GOG was just too good to pass up - and now I have become addicted to it all over again and thoroughly forsaken all others !!!!

Anyone else having serious problems getting GOG.com to take payments?

Yep. I love GOG. At some point I need to download clean copies of all of the GOG games and copy them onto DVDs.

I've always burned any setup files to a DVD as soon as I've downloaded them. That way I've stayed on top of the job !!

Although, of course, sometimes there are updates which merit further action.
