I don't think I mentioned that Ramei on The Harbinger is level 60, but only half way through Shadow of Revan. Adla is stuck at 54. I'm not sure what to do with her, flashpoints I guess, since they raised the level on things that used to level 50 to 55 so she cant do those things to get to 55.

Do you have a favorite of all your toons in this game?

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 05/18/15 05:29 PM

Not really.

SWTOR west coast servers are down, which means I can't play The Harbinger characters. It started with that server crashing last night. They thought they fixed it, but this morning they had to take down all the west coast servers to try to figure out what's happening.

East coast servers The Shadowlands and Jedi Covent which I have characters on are still up.

That is always so annoying. I'm glad some of them are up for you.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 05/18/15 06:31 PM

West coast servers are showing as active again but The Harbinger still doesn't connect.

Sith Inquistors have my favorite visual skill effects.
Imperial Agents have the best stories and best space ship.
Sith Warrior has a unique companion, her personality actually depends on whether your ligtside or darkside. Male darkside character can romance her, lightside can't because lightside she wont violate the jedi code.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 05/31/15 06:42 AM

Down sides of having as many characters as I do:
It easy to forget which ones are light side and which are dark side. I always look when I start to play one again, just to be sure.

You never know if you less often played characters will still be in a guild. Apparently, the game limits how many characters guilds can have and multiple characters from one person counts as separate members. So they might delete you.

Easy to get confused about which strongholds have which decorations.

I sometimes find myself thinking of having one character that got an armor drop or weapon drop pass it on to a different character only to realize, the other character is on a different server and I can't do that. Can on same server but not different ones. Example: all those characers on the Harbinger completing chapter 1 get an item thats tradable for a weapon for a different, lower level characters. But turned out none of my other characters on Harbinger server need those lower leveled weapons. So I just got the weapons and once the return for a full refund wore off I sold them to merchant for credits instead of the tradable item, which is useless once all your characters get passed level 15.

I've got two slots on Jedi Covenant server saved for Togruta. Unfortuantly the only classes I don't already have characters in are both imperial. and I'd prefer to have one Togruta on each side. So I'll either have to convert one existing republic character to Togruta or delete one and start over as Togruta.

The first video I had in mind, but last actually made. My original idea was to use the images set to "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" but that of course would get me in trouble with the copyright holders. It wasn't until I made the other 3 videos that I found the free music in Youtube's audio library. So this last video is I think the better one just because it has more variety in background music.

Togruta as playable race and Yavin 4 stronghold are tentatively scheduled for update 3.3 on July 21st. Like Tatooine stronghold, Yavin 4 will include indoors and outdoors (the others are indoors). As of now they apparently only have female togruta done but are working on male.

Oh I could unlock more character slots so if I wanted could have togruta on all 3 servers I use, but that costs real money. MY plan now is to make two togruta on Jedi Covenant.

Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Live: June 9 – August 25

Level 15 quest tells you to goto Nar Shadaa. The thing is, my level 15 characters haven't finished their prologue so cant get to the planet. My characters that can are higher than level 15 so cant get the XP. The quest gives you chips to use at the casino.
Posted By: looney4labs

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/09/15 08:05 PM

Awwwww, sorry you can't do it yet. Will you get those level 15 toons through the prologue before it ends?
Posted By: GuybrushThreepwood

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/09/15 08:17 PM

I was able to do it on two level 19 characters, they still get the experience. They didn't win anything, except more chips which of course I ultimately lost. You can buy more chips and people who seriously want to win do. I don't. Last year one of my characters won a mount. I have to leave for work now or I'd do it on one more level 19 character.

I probably could complete prologues a couple times. Apparently you cant exit Nar Shadaa stronghold to the planet until you have your spaceship. Which is interesting because technically you're just riding an elevator down. Of course theoretically you couldn't even travel to the stronghold without a ship so I guess not exiting it does make sense.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/17/15 11:03 AM

Adla has reached level 60 and is about half way through Shadow of Revan.
The jedi consular quest has you hear voices. One of those is disturbing, its Adla's husband saying goodbye. And oddly you hear trooper's companion shouting "For the Republic!" You also hear sith voices. I wonder if it has anything to do wtih future events, ie Knights of the Fallen Empire. You're also told you could possibly earn one or more of these titles: Seneshal, Hierphant of the Jal Shey, Betrayer of Balmorra. And that after you're dead both a young jedi and a sith will study your life. The jedi in danger of going darkside wants to learn your battle techniques, the sith hates you and wants to understand why you did the things you did.

What your told is shaped by dialogue choices so I'm sure darkside gets different results. Lightside the jedi is redeemed and the sith although not converted does act to save his home village.

Seneshal is actually an in game title. Jal Shey apparently an ancient group of force users who were neither jedi nor sith. Balmorra is a planet the republic and sith fight over. In republic story line you of course save it for the republic.

Sith Inquistor also hears voices but through alien technology not the force and gains a few extra years of life.
Smuggler gets a business opportunity. I forgot what bounty hunter does, probably kills somebody/ I haven't done the others yet.

Archanathena has reached level 60. Imperial agent Shadow of Revan quest you're asked to do a favor for your old boss, a rescue mission. I wouldn't be surprised if the other former imperial intelligence agent shows up in Knights of the Fallen Empire.

Xoanan has completed the Rise of the Emperor story line. Its not very long. And finally reached maximum darkside points. I don't know if the emperor will be defeated as part of Knights or if there will be an update before that which adds more.

Knights of the Fallen Empire raises cap level to 65. And it will provide the option to create a new level 60 character so players who don't have one can jump right into the new content.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/22/15 12:39 AM

Why would you take on the Sith Emperor, the most powerful darkskide force user in the known galaxy? Apparently capable of destroying entire planets through the Force, no Death Stars needed? I can only tell you for sure the motivations of 3 out of the 8 classes, two imperial, one republic, two darkside, one lightside.

Oddly enough the darkside bounty hunter (empire) and lightside smuggler (republic) have the same motive for taking on the Sith Emperor, he's bad for business. If he kills everyone else in the galaxy (yes they both assume they will survive any disaster, and apparently Knights of the Fallen Empire will prove them right) is dead, then they have no clients. Technically, bounty hunter and smuggler are both outsiders, so makes sense they would survive the collapse of both empires. The bounty hunter especially reminds people that he is not imperial, he or she just works for the empire because the republic won't hire him or her.

The darkside sith inquistor turns against his emperor for the worst of reason, he (in my case) wants to replace Vitiate as emperor.

I'm most interested to see if the sith warrior gets a special reaction. After all he or she is the Emperor's Wrath, assigned by the Emperor himself to carry out his will. But for the sake of the empire Silvary my lighside sith warrior will be forecd to turn against her master.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/22/15 08:24 AM

Level 60 characters doing Knights of the Fallen will wake up from being frozen in carbonite, having misssd the end of the war (boo), learn that both the empire and the republic have fallen to a third faction (actually if you count up all the third factions that arise in the game its really s seventh faction but lets not split hairs).

There will be 5 new companions to gain.
Apparently other companions can be gained as well including past ones from other classes but players will have to earn their respect.

They say that for existing characters old companions will remember the past. So I guess Mako will remember she marred Josra for example. For new level 60 characters created for the expansion the writers will have to invent a past.

Some of the comapanions on different classes actually supposed to have met before: Vette (Sith Warrior) & Risha (Smuggler). Doc (Jedi Knight) & Kaliyo (Imperial Agent), Qyzen (Jedi Consular) & Mako (Bounty Hunter). Hope the writers remember if they meet in KotFE,

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/24/15 10:01 PM

Star Wars The Old Republic planets visted:

You only see Chapter #s or Interlude screens when you first log in on a character. So if you don't pause between chapters you'll never notice them.

Class Prologue:
Jedi- Tython and Coruscant (Galactic Republic capital)
Smuggler & Trooper - Ord Mantell & Coruscant
Sith - Korriban & Dromund Kaas (Sith Empire capital)
Bounty Hunter & Imperial Agent - Hutta & Dromund Kaas

("Interlude")

Class Chapter 1: (not including short visits to capital world or various space stations)
Galatic Republic characters: Taris, Nar Shadaa, Tatooine, Alderaan
Sith Empire characters: Balmorra, Nar Shadaa, Tatooine, Alderaan
Sith Warrior also goes to Hutta at the end

("Interlude")

Class Chapter 2:
Galatic Republic characters: Balmorra, Quesh, Hoth
Sith Empire characters: Taris, Quesh, Hoth

("Interlude")

Class Chapter 3:
All characters: Belsavis, Voss, Corellia
Jedi Knights also visits a special version of Dromund Kaas, the Sith capital. Sith Inquistors will also return to Korriban.

("Interlude")
Optional quests on Ilum, Black Hole (Corellia) and Section X (Belsavis)
An optional quest on Section X starts the scavenger hunt which gains your character companion HK-51.

Chapter 4: Rise of the Hutt Cartel - Makeb (first expansion)
(completing Chapter 4 is not required to begin Forged Alliances)

("Interlude")
Titans of Industry - CZ-198
The Dread War - Oricon
Both of these are optional, both have soloable quests and two player heroics and group flash points.
(the screen you get when logging in will display "Interlude" if you have A. not started Rise of the Hutt Cartel, or B. have completed Rise of the Hutt Cartel, if you have started but not completed Rise of the Hutt Cartel then you will get Rise of the Hutt Cartel screen until you finish it or start Shadow of Revan)

Forged Alliances / Prelude to Shadow of Revan - Tython (flash point), Dromund Kaas (flash point), Manaan, Rakata Prime (flash point)
Manaan is the only planet visited outside of a flash point, although it does have a point as well. Originally introduced under the title "Invasion". The final flash point was introduced under the title "Forged Alliances". Originally you needed 3 other players to do the flash points. After Shadow of Revan was implemented the quest "Prelude to Shadow of Revan" was added which made it possible to do solo versions of the flashpoints. In either form Forged Alliances must be completed before you can do Shadow of Revan.
(I think you'll get an "Interlude" screen while doing these as they are not considered their own chapter for some reason.)

Chapter 5: Shadow of Revan - Rishi, Yavin 4
Shadow of Reven flashpoints have soloable and group versions. Group version offers chances for better rewards but is probably harder. I've never done the group versions.

("Interlude: ALLIES NO MORE")
Chapter 5 Epilogue: Rise of the Emperor - Ziost
Requires completing Shadow of Revan. Matching the title, the Emperor is not defeated in this storyline, whether a new series of quests will appear before the next expansion to see the defeat of the Emperor or whether that's part of the expansion in October is unknown at this time.

("Interlude: ALLIES NO MORE")

??Chapter 6:?? Knights of the Fallen Empire - ??????
Supposed to be the largest expansion so I'm guess it gets a chapter number, notice that not all added storylines did.

Wether you complete any of the optional sections or not dialogue in later parts implies you did. For example NPCs in Shadow of Reven will assume you've been to Makeb and Oricon.

Taris and Balmorra are different levels for republic and empire characters and are visited by the two sides at different points in the war.

Technically some of these "planets" are actually moons (Nar Shadaa, Yavin 4, CZ-198). The planet Yavin for example is a gas giant so you can't actually land on it.

Most planets from first 3 chapters have Bonus Series quests which are optional and are usually of higher level and if done will require you to return to that planet at a later date. Starter worlds and capitals do not have bonus series. I've done them in the past, but now mostly ignore them.

Companion quests (only first companion for each class has them) may take you back to planets you previously visited. I always do these even if I've leveled above them as they do gain companion affection.

Also of course your characters will be returning to their capital worlds regularly.

Troopers and Smugglers can choose to visit the jedi home world of Tython
Imperial Agents and Bounty Hunters can choose to visit the sith home world of Korriban
Sith can visit Hutta
Jedi can visit Ord Mantel

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/25/15 01:36 AM

Draenen (ls trooper) is about to complete Forged Alliances: Part III and begin Shadow of Revan. Originally Forged Alliances was added over a period of months. So you'd do part 1 and then had to wait before part 2 was added, then wait again for part 3. Now of course there is no waiting.

After completing Shadow of Reven storyline is possible, advisable even, to stay on Yavin 4 and do daily quests (once a day) and two weekly quests (once a week). One weekly is to face Raven again the other requires gathering a minimum of 7 more players to take on the world boss. I have yet to do it just because I naver see anybody forming a group. Every time you fight Revan you get a companion weapon, do enough times you'll equip all your companions. The daily quests provide armor for companion, so in about a week you can equip all your companions if you want. Rishi has some daily quests and 1 operation (8 to 16 people). I've done the operation once. Didn't know what I was doing, and got killed, by a door. Seriously the operation begins with a door slamming shut and not knowing it I hadn't moved....after the first boss was dead somebody raised me and we went on to finish the operation.

Rise of the Empire originally did not have the final (so far) cut scene. You were told to click on a console, which told you to check back later. Had to wait a week. Now of course you click on the console and are told to click on the mission station which gets you the cut scene. After completing Rise of the Empire story line there are daily quests that don't advance the story they just let you explore Ziost after the emperor was done with it. There is also one weekly quest which requires a group of at least 7 more players, and I have yet to complete it once. Tried several times, always a failure. Doesn't help that I'm usually first one killed frown

Oh the Rakata, whos home world Forged Alliances ends on once ruled the galaxy, before the jedi or the sith. Some how they lost their connection to the Force and their empire collapsed. Residences of Rakata Prime are now savages. Everyone in SWTOR galaxy are impressed by old Rakata tech, despite the fact that player characters keep destroying it, proving its not so impressive. I don't get the Revanites infatuation with it. Or anybody elses.

A small emergency update today. Last update added a decoration that can be purchased for 1 credit (they usually do this when the item was supposed to be in a cartel pack, purchasable will real money but was not) that could then be sold back to a merchant for 100 credits. Today's update removes the ability to sell it back to vendors.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/26/15 09:25 PM

Starter weapons and armor are not modifiable, except maybe color crystal for weapons. Not long though before you'll start getting modifiable weapons and armor.

Modifiable Armor: helmet, chest piece, gloves, bracer (arms), belt, pants, boots
Not modifiable Armor: ear, implant 1, implant 2, relic 1, relic 2

Armor mods:
Armoring: armor rating, endurance and primary attribute (aim, cunning, strength, willpower)
Mod: endurance and primary attribute + one secondary attribute
Enhancement: endurance, + one secondary attribute + one secondary attribute
Augment: endurance + one other attribute

Weapon mods:
Barrel: endurance and primary attribute for blasters (aim, cunning)
Hilts: endurance and primary attribute for light sabers and other melee weapons (strength, cunning)
Mod: same as armor
Enhancement: same as armor
Crystal: endurance (tank) or power (dps/healer) or critical rating (dps/healer) or expertise (PVP)
Augment: same as armor

Shield generators, power generators and focus are second hand weapons which use armoring so they are actually a type of armor

At lower levels mods do not have the secondary attribute bonus
At lower levels enhancements only feature endurance and power or critical rating

Augments require augmentation slots which not all armor and weapons have, they can be added for a price.

Tanking modifiers will have more endurance than primary class attribute
DPS/Healer modifiers will have more of the primary class attribute than endurance

The color of weapon crystal determines color of light saber beam and some blaster skills

Ear piece: endurance + primary attribute + 1 or more secondary attributes
Implants: endurance + primary attribute + 1 or more secondary attributes
Relics: endurance + 1 other attribute
some relics when equipped have a chance to automatically increase damage or healing
most relics require you click on them to give a temporary boost to one or two attributes

Primary class attributes:
Aim (trooper, bounty hunter)
Cunning (smuggler, imperial agent)
Strength (jedi knight, sith warrior)
Willpower (jedi consular, sith inquisitor)
Endurance (all) - for a tank this should be higher than class attribute for dps/healer class attribute is more important

Secondary attributes are:
power - increases damage and healing
critical rating - increases chance of doing critical damage or healing
surge rating - increases amount of damage or healing done by critical
accuracy rating - increases accuracy of weapons, not needed for healing which doesn't miss
alacrity rating - increases recharge speed of skills (most useful for healers)
shield rating - increases chance of personal shield activating (tank)
absorption rating - increase amount of damge shield absorbs (tank)
defense rating - increases chance of dodging damage (tank)

SWTOR History video - official video clips somebody editted into one long video explaining the history leading up to the time of the game. What ultimately happened to Revan is of course revealed in game. The new Mandalore sides with the Empire but is not their puppet. Bounty hunter characters meet him. The young female jedi raises to become the leader of the jedi. The sith who killed her master, than his own, is still around for the first 3 chapters of the game. At the start of the game the galaxy is theoretically at peace, but violations of the treaty, by both sides, eventually leads to full scale war again. By the time of Shadow of Revan and Rise of the Empire, the emperor is no longer concerned with galactic conquest, he now wants to destroy it as each death impowers him even more. Having then destroyed one galaxy he will move on to conquer others. At this point its unclear whether he actually has a physical form any longer. We know he uses dark side force powers to possess other people. Hmm why isn't that "jedi mind trick" (which is actually used by at least one sith in the game) not considered dark side? It is after all over powering some one elses will.

Most of the video features still pictures with narration, the portions with full animation and dialogue are actually the in game introductory videos. The smuggler in the video will become a companion to player characters in Knights of the Fallen Empire. Which makes me wonder where he's been all this time.

If the sith invasion was the largest, most well executed military action in galactic history, it most take something monumental to result in the collapse of the both the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic in Knights of the Fallen Empire.

BTW some people are claiming that the Knights of the Fallen Empire had to be approved of by Disney. Which doesn't make sense to me since all these events take place thousands of years before the movies. which according to the first movie are themselves ancient history. What ever happens in later story lines of SWTOR, the sith empire as portrayed in the game ultimately fails, the sith race become extinct and the humans calling themselves sith go into hiding.

After the original three films, in the books the sith eventually fade out all together, there are still dark side force users but they don't follow the sith code or call themselves sith. What the next series of films will do is anybodys guess.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/27/15 07:41 AM

The jedi code:
There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.

In the Rise of the Emperor a jedi splinter group adds: There is no contemplation, there is only duty. They foolishly think they can take on the sith emperor. They can't.

The sith code:

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

"The Force be with you" is a Jedi thing never hear a sith say it
One sith in Shadow of Revan and Rise of the Empire does say "May the Force ever serve you". She apparently will return in Knights of the Fallen Empire.

Jedi turning into glowing people who appear after being killed is a rare thing in SWTOR as Jedi who "become one with the Force" don't return. Sith on the other hand tend to become Force Ghosts, their spirits haunt their tombs and woe to any unprepared person who enters there in.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/28/15 09:41 AM

I retract my previous statment. It was only unclear whether the Emperor had a physical body or not because I had been repeatedly playing Shadow of Revan on the Empire side which has different dialogue from the Republic side. Now I just finished it on Draenen, republic trooper and in the cut scene after fighting Revan, Darth Marr says he's perplexed that the Emperor did not take on a physical form and that he left as soon as he appeared. So in Rise of the Emperor he is still a disembodied spirit. Which leads me to ask the same question, how is he going to die before Knights of the Fallen Empire, unless of course this new Emperor with a different name is actually the same spirit in a new body.

Another major diaologu differnce is on empire your told to go face Revan by yourself then you're surpised when the NPCs show up to back you up after all. On the republic side, they send you ahead but tell you they'll be right behind you, so you're not surprised when they show up
Also you talk less with Revan on republic side than empire side. The Emperor's voice is heard sooner on republic side than on empire side.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/29/15 03:07 AM

Given that two of the republic characters are actually Revan's descendants you'd think he'd talk more on the republic side but he actually talks more on the imperial side, so the emperor waits for him to finish.

Arachnathena, imperial agent, has completed Rise of the Emperor.

Draenen, trooper, has completed Rise of the Emperor.

Silvary, sith warrior, has started Shadow of Revan. And now I know why the Emperor's Wrath, loyal servant of the Sith Emperor, would set of on a mission that will ultimately lead to turning against the Emperor. She had a Force vision, in which not one but two Galaxies were rendered lifeless. Silvary doesn't actually know the cause of all this death yet.

Sith Warrior quest part of Shadow of Revan is interesting. You end up confronting of member of the Emperor's Hand, who's concerned about whether you remember that you serve the Emperor and says some rather cryptic but disturbing things. The Wrath is the Empero's enforcer. The Hand are his spies. Only one Wrath at a time but multiple members of the Emperor's Hand. They lose their names, if they ever had one and are just Servant One, Servant Two, etc. At this point in the story, Silvary still doesn't know her master is actually a threat to the empire, but she's getting suspicious. Servant One has acknowledged that the Emepror will return but wont say what happens after. Only "Soon Wrath, you will fulfill your true destiny". That's not ominous at all smile

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 06/30/15 06:14 AM

Several people have said that original when SWTOR was in beta testing it was possible to kill off your companions. Apparently the original idea was to have more companions available so if you killed off your healer for example you could get another one. But instead of implementing that they took out killing of your companions. Now Knights of the Fallen Empire is supposedly give players choices that will affect how things play out. Whether the character you don't kill could become a companion I don't know. I don't know why but a lot of people don't like the sith warrior's healer companion and are hopping KOTFE lets you kill off old companions so they can kill him. I'm no one of those people. In fact I'm worried that if we've been frozen in carbonite for a long time that means we actually lose our companions.

In Knights of the Fallen Empire, if you play on existing level 60 characters past actions will come into play. Don't know how but if your character romanced a companion that will have some effect for example. If you create a new level 60 character that character cannnot go back to play previous storylines, its just for Knights and any future content.

They keep putting up photos from Knights of the Fallem Empire on the SWTOR Facebook page than ask questions like:
What do you think will transpire in #FallenEmpire's Chapter 1: The Hunt?

I replied to this one:
We'll go looking for Vitiate only find out the jedi killed him after all and we've been chasing an illision created by Valkorion.

So far 1 like and 1 comment, that I could be right.

Vitiate is the old Sith Emperor.
Valkorion is the new Eternal Empire emperor
I already commented elsewhere that the Eternal Empire is no more eternal than the Rakatta's Infinite Empire was infinite.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 07/04/15 10:12 PM

Silvary has completed Shadow of Revan. Before the fight one of the sith warrior dialogue choices is to tell Revan that the emperor is your responsability not his. After the fight, Revan comments about the character of your character which is partially based on class and partially on alignment. Kind of funny to hear him say the Emperor's Wrath is virtuous but then its odd to be light side sith warrior. Before departing the voice of the emperor says "Do not fret, Wrath. You will always be special to me. That is why I will kill you last."

Characters, even Republic, call sith warrior "Wrath" they never says "Emperor's Wrath". Darth Marr (new emperor in everything but title) at the end renames you "Empire's Wrath" since the Emperor has turned against his people.

Unfortunately last conversation with the emperor is the same for everybody. He decides he wants you alive to witness his victory.

One of the solo quests gliched on me once, but exiting the flashpoint and reseting the instance let me go back in and do it. After doing the battle with Raven 7 or 8 times I finally figure out how to do it right.

The Shadowlands: Josra, Rojavon, Archanathena, Draenen, Nashebo, Xoanan and Silvary have all reached level 60. All but Nashebo have completed Shadow of Revan and Rise of the Emperor. He's just about half way through Shadow.

The Harbinger: Ramei and Adla have reached level 60 and are half way through Shadow of Revan.

Jedi Covenant characters haven't finished their class chapters yet.

Oh, chapter 10 of the Knights of the Fallen Empire will be written by the author of the imperial agent storyline, my favorite storyline. That sounds good.

Reading the forums at SWTOR.com I was reminded of what happens in the smuggler Shadow of Revan quest. The smuggler is talked int a scheme to steal and sell back tickets to a Hutt ship which is going to cruise the galaxy for 10 years in order to avoid the war between the Republic and the Empire. Does this ship have an encounter with the Eternal Empire, somewhere in space?

If any thing in bounty hunter quest ties into new expansion, I can't see it. Bounty hunter just kills criminals who killed some one he once knew.

Oh now I'm worried. Some said that in a test version of Knights of the Fallen Empire, after you wake up from 5 years of carbonfreeze you no longer have your ship. That makes me want to keep my imperial agents from doing it. They have the best ship. Trooper on the other hand, I'd gladly crash the ship into a black hole.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 07/07/15 05:29 PM

Vacation, a story about Nico Okarr, future companion so he still looks like he did in when the Sith returned, even though it been 38 years and by the time of Knights of the Fallen Empire another 5 years will have passed.

I've probably made some people mad because I said that compared to Vitiate, Palpatine was a wimp. Palpatine couldn't even kill one half trained Jedi. Vitiate killed every living thing on Ziost with the Force, didn't need a space ship to blow it up. Before he killed everybody he controlled the minds of both jedi and sith to turn them on the civilian population. Palpatine couldn't even control his own apprentice (Vader).

Oops I hadn't noticed before that when you defeat Revan you get a new optional title:
Bounty Hunter: Above the Law
Smuggler: Immune to Prosecution
Imperial Agent: Sith Intelligence Commander*
Trooper: Chief Military Advisor
Jedi Knight: Jedi Battlemaster
Sith Inquisitor: Dark Council Elite
Sith Warrior: Empire's Wrath (replaces Emperor's Wrath)
Jedi Consular: Master of Hidden Knowledge

*The Sith rather foolishly disbanded Imperial Intelligence and assigned you as a Commander in the Imperial Army. After Revan is defeated, because she called you in Lana Beniko, a female human Sith Lord (class not specified), she is rewarded by being placed in charge of the new Sith Intelligence, formed because Darth Marr finally recognized that an intelligence branch was needled but didn't trust it to non-sith. If you object that YOU should be in charge, Darr Marr sarcastically points out that the point of Sith Intelligence is to have a Sith in charge. He does recognize that you are the most experienced former Imperial Intelligence operative still alive and so you are granted some authority in the new agency. Note: After Rise of the Emperor its possible for your character to tell Lana that's she's incompetent and that she should resign. But that's probably just for flavor and unlikely to have any real effect, ie Darth Marr doesn't execute her which is usually what happens to sith failures, as she is part of Knights of the Fallen Empire. Your Republic character can say the same thing to her counterpart on the Republic side. No word about him in KOFTE, but I can't imagine he's not in it at some point.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 07/11/15 12:15 PM

I usually get dark side maxed on characters before light side on other characters. Seems to me being nice is harder. There are occasions where I think the writers got the right and wrong options backwards.

There very first republic flashpoint is nearly impossible to get one of the dark side dialogue options on because it doesn't show up with the light side option, only the light side and a neutral option appears. Everywhere else its light side, neutral and dark side, this is the only place light side and neutral no dark side. If 3 players are light and one is dark and picks the neutral option its 3 to 1 the light side option wins the role, ending the discussion. Only if neutral wins does the second dialogue tree with the dark side option happen. I never get the dark side point in this flash point. In a flashpoint the winning role determines the results but everyone still get the points that match their choice. So this flashpoint is unfair to dark side characters. Every place else all the options appear at once and every body gets their points even though only one actual result is seen. Solo mode would fix this problem.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 07/15/15 03:40 AM

Somebody asked a question on SWTOR.com that I've asked several times myself in game, why if SWTOR is 3000 years before the events of the movies is there so little difference in technology? The biggest advancement in ships in the movies is the Death Star and the sith in the game destroyed all life on two planets with out one anyway. At SWTOR one person gave a Star Wars lore answer and another a real world answer. Lore answer, according to the books sometime between SWTOR and the first movie the Sith Empire will totally collapse and the Galactic Republic will fall into a 1000 year dark age. No new tech. The real word answer: according to lore, tech in SWTOR should be a lot more primitive, jedi should not have lightsabers yet but should be armed witj metal bladed swords and everyone else should have equally primitive weapons. But no one would want to play that in Star Wars, they want to play the movies so we get lightsabers and blasters too early in Star Wars history, leaving the false impression the Star Wars galaxy does not advance much in 3000 years.

Togruta will be in Game Update 3.3 on Tuesday! We are pretty excited for all of you to get your hands on the new playable species.

One thing that sets Togruta apart from other species is that, due to their Montrals, any item worn in your head slot will be automatically hidden. By introducing a new playable species which hides its head slot, this gives us the potential to introduce other species down the line who have "head things going on."

Let us know what you think of the Togruta in Game Update 3.3!

Qazari has reached level 60, giving me 1 character in all classes that has (2 in the case of Jedi Consulars as well as Sith Inquisitor). When I get home from work he will finish first half of Shadow of Revan.

Hey folks,

I have seen a few questions about price. I just confirmed with the team and Togruta will cost exactly the same as Cathar, 600 Cartel Coins.

-eric

450 Cartel Coins cost $4.99. 1050 cartel coins cost $9.99. 24000 CC costs $19.99. 5,500 CC costs $29.99. 14,500 CC cost $99.99.
600 Cartel Coins will unlock Togruta for account, so all servers, both alliances, all classes. That allows new Togruta characters to be made if you have the character slots. Additional slots are 600 Cartel Coins. Subscribers get 16 slots per sever with ability to purchase up to 6 for a total of 22 per server. Knights of Fallen Empire is going to give subscribers 2 free slots to make instant level 60 characters.

Thanks!

I may change my mind by October but for nothing I'm thinking I'll make new level 60 character to try out Knights of the Fallen Empire before I take any existing characters into it.

Although most people do play jedi with lightsabers the game does allow for people who want to use older weapons. I have three jedi shadows and a sith assassin who are usng electorstaffs (metal bladed weapons) instead of double bladed lightsabers. I also have a sith marauder who is using two axes instead of two ligtsabers. The sith and two of the jedi are cathar and so use cathar warstaffs.
There are also blasters that look like older chemical based weapons (like Earth guns).

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 07/18/15 08:15 PM

A video on Knights of the Fallen Empire - apparently this person interviewed developers. According to this level 60 characters created for the expansion will be given default past. A jedi for example will be assumed to be mostly lightside, a sith darkside. Existing characters who cheated on their spouse with other NPCs will be found out. It may be possible to actually kill off companions, but there will be consequences for doing so.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 07/19/15 06:45 AM

The Emperor considers the Jedi Knight to be a pest. Questions why the Sith Warrior would run to meet death when he promised to kill you last. And calls most every one else "simple minded" or stupid. The exception being the dark side Jedi Consular whom he says is "far from stupid". And he doesn't actually threaten you. Seems he actually likes the dark side Jedi Consular.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 07/20/15 06:53 PM

Qazari has completed Shadow of Revan and Rise of the Emperor. That's my first 8 characters on the Shadowlands plus two on The Harbinger that could do Knights of the Fallen Empire.

The Shadowlands:
Bounty Hunter: Mercenary did Shaodw and Rise, level 60
Bounty Hunter: Powertech has not done either, level 55
Smuggler: Gunslinger did Shadow and Rise, level 60
Smuggler: Scoundrel has not done either, level 55
Imperial Agent: Sniper did Shaodw and Rise, level 60
Imperial Agent: Operative has not done either, level 55
Trooper: Vanguard did Shaodw and Rise, level 60
Trooper: Commando has not done either, level 55
Jedi Knight: Sentinel did Shaodw and Rise, level 60
Jedi Knight: Guardian has not done either, level 55
Sith Inquisitor: Sorcerer did Shaodw and Rise, level 60
Sith Inquisitor: Assassin has not done either, level 55
Sith Warrior: Juggernaut did Shaodw and Rise, level 60
Sith Warrior: Marauder has not done either, level 55
Jedi Consular: Shadow did Shadow and Rise, level 60
Jedi Consular: Sage has not done either, level 55

The Harbinger:
Sith Inquisitor: Sorcerer did Shaodw and Rise, level 60
Jedi Consular: Sage did Shaodw and Rise, level 60
all others are under level 50 and thus cannot do Shadow or Revan or Rise of the Empire yet

Boo. I was wondering why the game was still runnning so I checked the developer tracker on swtor.com:
Quote:
Hey folks!

We are running into some issues with Game Update 3.3, and so we are going to be delaying tonight's scheduled maintenance. It is still our goal to get out Game Update 3.3 as soon as possible. I will pass on more updates tomorrow. Again, there will be no maintenance tonight which will delay the launch of Game Update 3.3.

This does have an affect on some other things as well:

Bountry Contract Week is delayed until Game Update 3.3 goes live, and will only run until next Tuesday.
The Outer Rim Explorer's pack will still go live tomorrow.
The next Conquest will start on time, tomorrow.

Thank you for your understanding!

Went to swotr.com to see if any news and it was offline. Checked with twitter and facebook. They're doing the update now. But both Facebook and Twitter have the same lame message, telling you to click on a link for more information but that link leads to the web site which is currently down. I suggested on Facebook that next time they just post the whole message there. Telling people to go lock at a website that's currently down to find out how long its going to be down isn't too bright.

I think I finally got my male Togruta character settled. Character creation is hardest part for me, I keep changing my mind about how they should look. I had to give up on trying to make female. Easy for me to make a male character first. I'll go back to work on a female one later.

These SWTOR chains are making me consider loading up the game again. I was in the founders group, but the Sith guild I had joined kind of fell to pieces when the admin had a tizzy fit over a minor difference of opinion. After that, playing outside of a regular guild just wasn't as much fun due to some of the rude players that started popping up. That and my characters got wiped when they did an upgrade to the servers/game. I suppose that's the way a lot of MMO's go, but now that it seems to have leveled out and there's so much more content it's really getting tempting. I miss setting enemies on fire. LOL lol

Thanks Misslilo! Looks like I'll be loading things up. I'll probably start out small and get a new character build going in the latter part of next week to get back in the swing of things. Don't want to embarrass myself by tripping over a light saber or something. lol Then I'll let you know when I'm most likely to be online. Does your guild hang out on a specific server? It's been so long since I played I don't know if they still give a choice of server selection or not...

Update: Holy cow! I definitely have missed a lot! I just reloaded my SWTOR via the DVD's (I've got the collector's version so want to make sure I get all that cool online swag that came with it cool *Bling!*)signed into my old account, re-established my subscription and am now, even after locally loading the main game, downloading the gigabyte upon gigabyte of new content. Looks like it's going to be a looooong night sleep That's what I get for staying away for so long.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 07/27/15 01:37 AM

The more stuff they add the longer it takes for their server updates. Last couple were over 12 hours and all they did was add cosmetic stuff. Downloading updates on my end only took a few minutes. Maybe they'll split the new content in October over more than one server update.

Once I get a character going that's guild worthy I'll submit an app. I'm going to start the grind today and clear out my mailbox, way too many messages. If you collect mini pets buying cartel coins from amazon will get exclusive pets. I did once, got a space ship mini pet. Now its different rancors for different amounts of coins. Other stores may have their exclusive pets too. You go to swtor.com to enter the code. Then the mini pet will arrive in game mail, for all your characters.

Small update tomorrow. Must be minor bug fix their only estimating 2 hours downtime.

Cantina tour to Seattle August 26th canceled so the team can spend the time working on Knights of the Fallen Empire. Instead will be a livestream to talk about it, which will include the link to the code for another free mount and 1 random item.

Just a reminder if you subscribe by Friday you'll get Nico Okarr Companion when Knights of the Fallen empire goes live. I think some people missed that point, the rewards are not given on the last date to get them but when the expansions starts. Subscribed on August 31st you'll get Nicos blasters, September 31s you get his coat. Subscribed October 19 get Star Wars™: Knights of the Old Republic™ - Inspired Swoop Bike. If you read the short story you know there is a mystery about Nico Okarr, he apparently hasn't aged in 40 years.

Also - appears he's now a smuggler, but used to be a bounty hunter laugh

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 07/28/15 07:35 PM

He's a smuggler who in the story has taken up bounty hunting. Thats probably so he fits in with both republic characters (smuggler is a republic alsss) and imperial characters (bounty hunter is imperial class).

Brothers - new story about the twin brothers from Knight of the Fallen Empire trailer. Poor Thexan, he didn't see how his brother's hatred of their father had turned him to the dark side. Nice twist that the one dressed in black is light side and one dressed in white is dark.

Well, got my character up to level 12 so far. He's a Sith Warrior, Juggernaut/Immortal AKA Tank by the name of The Illustrious Norbano on the Shadowlands server. Been getting back into the swing of things. Just hit the first Heroic +2 quest (Red Machine), not sure if I'm going try and enlist help or just level up a bit more and hit it solo...again. Did pretty good against the fire spitting slugs until the second wave hit. Didn't have enough health left to fend off the big ones. They will pay though, yes, they will pay evil Sorry just getting into character lol

I probably will give it a few more solo attempts, but then might send out a call for help this weekend if the big worms keep knocking me down. What is it with worms and my game characters? LOL!

Update: Went better as planned. I forgot about "acquiring" Vette. She has a smart mouth, but is a great shot with a blaster. Finally, I'm off to the fleet. thumbsup

If you're a subscriber and have 12X xp going leveling goes quickly. At lower levels one class quest can raise you two levels. Slows down a bit at higher levels. And goes away at 55.

That sold me on the Revan story arc from there on out. I could never figure out why they never fleshed at least part of that arc out into a movie, it would have been...glorious! lol The new gameplay is definitely attractive, but most of all I'm very interested in seeing how they continue the storyline.

Seems like very little was learned from that German Catina those free item codes are from:
"When starting Knights of the Fallen Empire, any other unfinished quest lines will be aborted and can not be returned to."
Hopefully this cleans out your quest log. Right now, after completing Chapter 3 you automatically get a quest to go to Ilum, which is skipped by most people because there are other things that one can to do level past 50 now. And that quest cannot be removed. If you start but do not finish Mekab you can't remove the quest you don't do finish either.

Valkorion (the new emperor) voice actor is a big Star Wars fan.

Valkorion always favored Arcann over his twin brother, even though Thexan was actually the stronger of the two.

The first KOFE trailer originally had a crashed Star Destroyer in but Lucas Arts demanded its removal (turns out there's a similar scene in the next movie).

We might learn more after Friday's Catina.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/07/15 07:15 PM

Crafting is going to change. No details given, except that no longer will you land on a planet and discover you can't gather from nodes because you haven't gathered enough on the lower planets to raise your gathering levels. All nodes, on all planets will give you crafting materials.

No changes to fleets, instead new central hub for KOFE. They jokingly said the fleets would be destroyed in the invasion and everyone on the fleets would be killed. Before saying the fleets wouldn't actually change.

There will be future operations and flashpoints, not just at launch of KOFE. (People keep claiming they said never any more when they did not). Operations boss now are hard on melee characters except Ziost ops boss which was intentionally made to be hard on ranged dps (which explains why I cant do it). Future bosses they will test with an all melee group and an all ranged group and if either group cannot beat the boss, the boss will scraped.

They originally intended for there to be free range space, where you can get in your ship and just fly around. They didn't apparently actually say this would be added but why bring it up if not?

Companions being changed so that you choose them on story (who you like) rather than what they can do.

Decisions you make it chapters 1, 2, 3 of Knights of the Fallen Empire, may come back to haunt you in chapters 7, 8, 9.

Base game is being changed to speed up leveling from 1 to 60.

That SWTOR has higher tech than it should has been confirmed. They originally planned for lower tech but realized that isn't what movies fans wanted.

Hadn't thought of this it was brought up in swtor forum. Even though togruta do not show the head piece they are wearing you still want to put a check mark in hide headgear if you want to them to talk like their not wearing a helmet. Yes, having a helmet on changes the way your characters sound. Makes sense, your voice would be muffled in a helmet.

Well, finally got my Sith tank Norbano up to Level 25. Even ran a few Heroic level quests with Vette and didn't get slaughtered...well too bad anyway lol

I've got to retrain my crafting skills and build up some new armor. The loot drops are OK, but the common market sure does reflect the economy though, good grief. The amount some people are asking for their unbound loot drops and quest rewards is crazy. I seem to recall being able to outfit my characters a lot easier way back when. Ah well, I may also try some PVP even though I'm pretty sure I'll get my...er...Hutt kicked. snicker If I recall correctly the PVP armor payouts can be head and shoulders over the vanilla drops.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/12/15 08:27 AM

Prices seem to depend on the server. I can sell same item on 3 servers and get 3 different prices. I dont PVP. One thing I cant make any money on is PVP experience boost items. No won wants to pay anything for them. I usually end up donating them to guild or even throwing them away because I'd have to sell them for less than the market's fee.

I thought it wold be a good idea to come up with a name for future Knights of the Fallen Empire character, than save the name by making a character now then delete it in October and reuse the name. Only problem is all the names that mean "outsider" (closest I can get to Outlander) are already taken.

After 3 years I still don''t know everything. I just learned there are 3 optional titles for female bounty hunters to gain on Alderaan. I don't have any of them on any characters. "Homewrecker" you have to turn traitor (Dark Side) and kill your clients. Not sure how you get "Knight of Alderaan". Baroness you have to be nice to young male nobleman and when he asks you to marry him but not actually live with him as his wife you agree.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/12/15 11:10 PM

Traditionally togruta do not wear footwear. There is an armor piece Covert Feet Energy Armor which lets a character wear boots but not show it. Looks odd though to have a togruta trooper in full armor except for the feet. Sith and Jedi tend to wear robes that hide their feet so boots don't show on them anyway.

Its NOT guaranteed to be in Knights of the Fallen Empire but a developer says they are looking at legacy datacrons. Right now when you find a a datacron it gives a lore entry and raises one of that character's stats, but only that character gets the increase, the lore and the experience.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/17/15 08:01 PM

Antohn is my first Jedi Covenant character to complete chapter 3 and reach level 50. He's become a mole. A light side imperial agent has the option at the end of chapter 3 to switch sides. My first ligth side agent, Misuteri, on The Shadowlands server didn't take it, because he's Chiss and he's loyal to his people who have a treaty with the Empire. Antohn is a human cyborg. Antohn continues to work for the Empire, of course, but has agreed to be available when the Republic needs him to strike against the Empire to end the war. As far as I know all this means is that there is an extra scene in Shadow of Revan. Hopefully will come up in Knights of the Fallen Empire too.

They keep adding items from the Eternal Empire that shows up in Knights of the Fallen Empire to the Cartel market but I'm not buying. This must be there way of paying for the expansion since its free to subscribers. Cartel coins cost real money.

Dot'ty might finish Rise of the Hutt Cartel, republic side, tonight/tomorrow morning, after I get home from work.

Rise of the Hutt Cartel done. After Dot'ty married Lieutenant Felix Iresso. Dot'ty is named after my cat, Dotty.

Both sides think they won it. Empire new power source, Republic new allies.

I failed to take my own advice. I forgot I had the Nar Shaadaa quest one one character until it was too late (lol).

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/26/15 07:00 AM

Well, finally had some time to invest in game play over the last week or so and got my Sith Jugg/Tank "Lord Norbano" up to level 52. Still haven't faced off against the big Darth yet, just running related errands for the Emperor's Hand. I stopped running every side quest because it was throwing me out of sync with my class quests. I always ended up a level or two higher than what was expected causing me to basically play for credits and loot drops in some early cases. The big quest end payoffs always came through, which really propelled my character's leveling forward after I hit the 40's. Problem is now I have a quest log full of greyed out quests, making it a bit messy. Looking forward to the Hutt quest arc once I wrap up the Empire. lol

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/26/15 07:23 AM

You can abandon side quests. Whats annoying is once you complete your third chapter you get a quest you can't abandon. It leads to Ilum which you can skip if you have Rise of the Hutt Cartel which gives better xp. Dotty went from level 50 to 56 doing Rise.

I've been skipping Scection X, Black Hole, Czerka Corp and Orican (Dread Masters) just because Rise will get you to 55 which allows you to do Prelude to Shadow of Reven. Shadow of Revan gets you to 60 and you dont' get any experience doing Rise of the Emperor, until Knights of the Fallen Empire comes out and increases max level to 65.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/26/15 07:59 PM

Livestream tonight going to show Knights of the Fallen Empire Chapter 3, apparently where it really begins, but I'm skipping it. I don't want the story spoiled. Chapters 1 and 2 probably deal with former Sith Emperor Vitiate.

I've suspected since Knights announcment that Valkorion and Vitiate were same person. Another player speculates over at swtor.com that once upon a time Valkorion was a decent man, a good leader for his people, but then one day the disembodied spirit of Vitiate discovered the Empire of Zakuu, and possed Valkorion corrupting him into an evil man who would want one of his twin sons to kill the other.

Correct theory? Sounds good to me, but time will tell.

Some dates:
August 26: Livestream showing Knights of the Fallen Empire Chapter 3 game play.
August 31: last day to subscribe to get Nico Okarr Blaster Set when Knights of the Fallen Empire is released
September 30: last day to subscribe to get Nico Okarr Duster Coat (chest armor)
October 19: last day to subscribe to get Star Wars™: Knights of the Old Republic™ - Inspired Swoop Bike mount
October 19: Last day of 12X experience for subscribers
October 20: Early Acess to Knights of the Fallen Empire for those subscribed since August 10 (was originally July 31)
October 27: Knights of the Fallen Empire release date, rewards given trough in game mail

Note: although I don't plan to watch the livestream I will try to get the next free mount code from it and post one here.

There's an update 4.0 coming but I don't have a date for it or what it covers, except its make some changes to weekly quests on Makeb (I dont do those so doesn't mean much to me personaly).

another mount code

Some hightlights from the livestream, as noted on swtor.com:

During Knights of the Fallen Empire only certain companions will be available but when you're not doing the new story line your old companions will become available again.

All companions will be able to act as tank, healer or dps, your choice. Their abilitis will scale with your level regardless of gear they have equipped. Gear will effect their appearance not their function.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/27/15 06:37 PM

Some companions from other characters will become available to your character.

Sounds like update 4 will be Knights.

If companions are wearing earpieces and implants those will be removed and mailed back to you so you don't lose access to them when companions not part of Knights go away. I guess so you can use them on new companions instead.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/27/15 06:42 PM

It sounds neat to be able to choose the role your companion will fill. Is this a one time choice, or can it change per encounter?

Thanks for the new mount code and the information Guybrush! Always fun to have a new vehicle to switch into, except I seem to be a street sweeper when wearing robes in all but my Longspur STAP. lol

I'm looking forward to finishing out this quest line and moving into Revan after the Hutt quest line is completed. Also really excited about the Knights of the Fallen Empire, if they really are bringing back the old school Bioware method of story based quest lines in the tradition of their predecessor game developers Black Isle, I will be a very happy person.

Lana Beniko, introduced in Prelude to Shadow of Revan is first new companion in Knights of the Fallen Empire. We've known that for months. Still no news on Theron Shan, the Republic agent from Shadow of Revan.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/28/15 03:24 PM

Well, Norbano was victorious over his old master. Got him up to 55, so next stop is the Hutt quest line after I finish kicking those darn Jedi off Ilum. evil

Since the subscription XP bump will be ending eventually I think I'll put Norbano aside for a bit and rev up a couple more characters; maybe a Bounty Hunter or Jedi character. I've gotten so used to straight on combat with the Jugg that it would probably be better for me to expand a bit and go with a ranged character next. I don't recall ever doing a Jedi Consular, so may go that route, but the Bounty Hunter perks are attractive. Ah, decisions, decisions. lol

Updated: Wow, I forgot how whiny the Jedi's can be on SWTOR, no wonder I used to play either Sith or Bounty Hunters way back when. I keep thinking of that whining line Mark Hamill delivered in the first Star Wars, "...but I was going to Tosche Station to pick up some power converters" lol Even the taxi robots are all bent out of shape, "Remember, mechanized travel is for official business only." Gee, thanks dad! grin Maybe I'll try a Smuggler instead.

Companion Affection is going to be renamed Influence.

Right now different companions are better at different crafting, apparently this is going to change so that the higher you Influence the better all your companions will be at crafting.

Hmm, I might of misunderstood. So, if a single companion's Influence is raised, all the other companions crafting skills benefit? I thought the buff only impacted the specific character with the higher Influence rating.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/31/15 12:34 AM

Now I actually have to start crafting. crazy

This first run through helped me get used to the system again and the little tricks like being able to support a new character financially with a more established character. Now that I'm remembering how this works I'll have to establish a "crafting character" to support my habit. lol

You might have already mentioned this Guybrush, but I'm looking forward to the next update that will have items "Bound to Legacy." I always thought the bound thing was somewhat inconvenient. I understand why they do it, but the resell amounts could be a little better for bound goods. At least with the legacy binding I'll be able to share goods with characters of similar alignment. thumbsup

Hopefully, they won't change the loot drops under the assumption that folks won't need them as much due to the legacy sharing.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/31/15 01:34 AM

I'm not very good at crafting to make money. I do craft armor and weapons mods for different characters to use so they can save their commendations for later. The problem is with the 12X thing my characters level far faster than they increase their crafting ability. Some of my level 60 characters collect crafting materials I still don't know what they're for.

I'm looking forward to my characters being able to gather materials on every world because right now, again because of 12X xp thing, most of my characters cant actual gather materials from the higher level planets because they haven't gathered enough on the lower level ones to get their gathering skills up.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic part 3 - 08/31/15 06:15 PM

Well, finished the Hutt quest line. It was a decent brawl although somewhat anti-climatic. The developers really need to test out their expansions more. I came across a number of glitches in this quest line, e.g. stuck cut-scene conversations that never end, cut-scene conversations that never initiate, landscape/pixel traps, journal and stats not updating. Most were resolved by exiting and reloading, but that's a pretty good list for something that's been running for awhile. Also, the world map is terrible and that's pretty strong language for me. I'm fairly tolerant of those types of things, but you basically have to guess where you are going in a number of instances and it can be frustrating. At least it was for me.

Norbano is up to 57, time to check out Revan.
