Its about this voidwalker. Stains of heresay, the ivory citidal and activating the portals.
I have done everything in the walkthrough get in, drop down activate lower portal, climb up,
split,turn crank, activate top portal, unsplit,jump down acivate portalinside portal holding down middle button longer go back up split jump down and climb to first crank activate portal unsplit
split turn second crank and nothing happens. I have tried about a dozen times. does anyone know the "exact" procedure

Did you check out the walkthrough
here? Sometimes looking at more than one walkthrough is helpful.
I would also suggest checking out YouTube videos for this part of the game - that might be of help as well.

Just tried 3 times but same thing happens. Stuff flies to first orb and then nothing

I found this online - does it pertain to your problem?
When you get to the 2nd round rotating wall, you must use Soul Splitter to rotate it and reveal a blue portal wall.
Shoot a portal at this wall and then release the wall to return it to its original position.
Now look to your left and you will see another portal wall down on a ledge.
Shoot the other portal here and through it, you will see a 3rd portal wall that you can shoot with a CHARGED shot to create a portal on the far wall that's out of sight.
Now you can use soul splitter again and turn the switch to create an opening by that 3rd portal and use one of the souls to jump through the portal and retrieve the chest inside the round room.
Release Soul Splitter and return to your normal self and use Soul Splitter again.
This time use one soul to turn the switch to once again reveal that opening to the 3rd portal and use the other soul to return towards the first round room and to the left of it you will see a ledge you can jump down to and climb up to where the switch to the first rotating room is located.
From here you can shoot at the portal wall that's next to the Orb that is currently infused with Light.
This will connect to the 3rd portal wall from before and the Light will flow to the orb in the 2nd Rotating room.
Now release the Soul Splitter ability and this should cause the 2nd room to rotate back to normal and the Light will now infuse the orb that was in the 1st Rotating room, which will finally destroy the black corruption that was in the way blocking your progress.

Let us know how you do on this one merrick. I scanned around and the only thing I've seen mentioned is to "hold the button down" unfortunately I have no context as to that that means, since I haven't played the game. I really enjoyed the first one, but only after switching to a controller, there were some jump/flip run combinations I just couldn't get the hang of with keyboard and mouse. Looks like this one is also a port from console development, which can unfortunately make it that much more difficult on PC. Definitely looking to give it a try through.
