food network challenge

i was watching this and wondering is it fixed, because the guy who won had a big star made of lumber it was the rollerderby cake one, and they gave this one lady 15 min to fixed her cake her roller derby girl cake fell knowing they didn't like it.

I know the winner of one of the challenges (the sandwich King) and it was definitely not fixed. Not sure of the others.
