Monday Mourning - 01/28/13 01:52 AM

Great minds have purposes, others have wishes.
Washington Irving (1783 - 1859)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If any of these are true for you, you might be a red neck.
The directions to your house include "turn off the paved road".
Your dog and your wallet are both on chains.
You owe the taxidermist more than your annual income.
You have lost at least one tooth opening a beer bottle.
Jack Daniel's makes your list of "most admired people".
Your home has wheels and your car doesn't.
Your house doesn't have curtains, but your truck does.
You have started a petition to change the National Anthem to "Georgia on My Mind".
You call your boss "Buddy", on a regular basis.
You consider your license plate personalized because your dad made it in prison.
You have been fired from a construction job because of your appearance.
You need one more hole punched in your card to get a freebie at the House of Tattoos.
You need an estimate from your barber before you get a haircut.
After making love you ask your date to roll down the window.
The biggest fashion risk you take is which plaid you'll wear to the 4-H Fair.
You have flowers planted in a bathroom appliance in your front yard.
Someone in your family says "Cum'n here an' lookit this afore I flush it."
Your wife weighs more then your refrigerator.
You mow your lawn and find a car.
If going to the bathroom in the middle of the night involves putting on shoes a jacket and grabbing a flashlight.
Your dog can't watch you eat without gagging.
You have a Hefty bag on the passenger side window of your car.
You have a very special baseball cap, just for formal occasions.
You bought a VCR so you could tape wrestling while you are at work.
Your dad walks you to school because you are both in the same grade.
Your wife has a beer belly and you find it attractive.
You go Christmas shopping for your mom, sister, and girlfriend, and you only need to buy one gift.
You are still holding on to Confederate money because you think the South will rise again.
You consider pork and beans to be a gourmet food.
You have to go down to the creek to take a bath.
You participate in the "who can spit tobacco the farthest contest".
You roll you hair with soup cans and wash it once a year.
You consider a three piece suit to be: a pair of overalls, a plaid flannel shirt and thermal underwear.
There is a sheet hanging in your closet and a gun rack hanging in your truck.
You think the Mountain Men in deliverance were just "Misunderstood".
You've ever made change in the offering plate.
If the fifth grade is referred to as "your senior year".
You consider a good tan to be the back of your neck and the left arm below the shirt sleeve...
You own at least 20 baseball hats.
You know of at least six different ways to bend the bill of a baseball hat.
You can change the oil in your truck without ducking your head.
When you run out of gas, you put gin in the gas tank!
Your new Trans-Am has a custom camouflage paint job.
Three quarters of the clothes you own have LOGOS on them.
Good morning everyboomie. wave
As a new week begins, we're almost through with January of 2013. Can ya believe it? shocked
Time marches on. crazy
I hope he has better feet than mine. razz
The only place I want to march is to bed.....real soon.
I don't know why I want to sleep so much now.
I think that having my eyes open must be very tiring. duh
Also because as I get older, I get weaker, it's becoming harder, and harder to hold them open. sleep
My eyelid muscles are at the end of their rope. shocked
Muscle relaxers don't seem to help much either.
That's not to say they don't have some effect though. sleep
They're telling me right now that it's time to get horizontal real soon.
Have a happy day everyone.
Joe, I hope you have a fantastic day and that your eyelids stay open when they are supposed to.
I will be in the corner day but somehow I will go dance at night. Have not figured out the logistics of what to do with my toe, but I'll get through it somehow.
I hope you all have a fantastic day!
Good morning everyone. Gail, prayers you are feeling better. Not sure what we will do after our walk yet. The boys should be home later this week. I hope most of the icey roads are better by then. We had an enjoyable time at the Depression Glass show. It was all beautiful, but very pricey. We did find a Decanter with the Ring Pattern we could afford. To all here and all who follow, have a Great Monday. Danish, Muffins, Bacon Sandwiches, and Hot Chocolate in the NC. penguin
Magnificent Monday ya'll puppy
Not sure what is up for the day but I'm pretty sure whatever is, it'll be a day. whistle
I know I have some insurance calls to make, some laundry to fold and dinnner to cook. Other than that, I'll play it by ear.
Ana, we give Keoki Cherry Pills to help with his arthritis. He gets 4 a day..2 in each meal. I wonder if they would help your situation also?
Have you tried taping your toe to the one next to it? That is what the docs had us do for son when he played soccer.
Gail, so glad you are feeling peppier. Enjoy the walk!
Re: Monday Mourning - 01/28/13 04:43 PM
Mornin' all. Warm today,overcast, sprinkly -real geay lizard day and my favorite kind.
New kit is doing well, too well in fact, perhaps when he's neutered he'll calm down -let's hope so. Cmmndr Buttons won't eat and the 2 girls eat and run. Perhaps a bit more than I barganed for but he was starving -at least no starv-ee now so he's feeling better, and showing it.
L4L where do you get those cherry pills? I've been hurting so much this winter and we really don't have winters here. Turmuric helps assuage pain and maybe both would really zap it.
Stuck on 2 games -Devil May Cry 2 and Splatterhouse. Splatterhouse is so splatter it's funny. It can be a most difficult game. It 1st appeared in 1988 and has survived.
Well, cleancleancleanclean, no laundry today and maybe groceries tomorrow and then gamegamegamegame.
Happy monday all
Re: Monday Mourning - 01/28/13 05:28 PM
L4L, Merlin gets a rimadyl before he can run, not sure if the cherry pills will help. Hubby and I stopped taking our cherry concentrate because we tried for months and there was no difference for us. It's so dang expensive to take I cut it out of the budget. I took it years ago and noticed a difference, but not this time. I buy mine from King's Orchard.
I can't tape my toes because do to my bone spur on my big toe I have to wear these shoes to exercise in.
be back...
Re: Monday Mourning - 01/28/13 05:37 PM
Ahhhh yes, Vibrams. We got those for son and dil a couple years back for Christmas.
Yankee, we get ours from the same place Ana did... King Orchards. How do you take the tumeric?
Hubby uses the tart cherry juice in his milk in the mornings and we give Keoki the pills. They are expensive but we see results. Keoki moves better and hubby can tell from the pain in his hands any day he forgets to drink his cherry milk.
I'm going to try putting it in my yogurt. I do have to be careful of getting too much Vit C as it slams my bladder into IC mode. wave
Re: Monday Mourning - 01/28/13 06:15 PM
Well, I put a dozen eggs to hard boil them over an hour ago. I got sidetracked on mail and heard a boom in the kitchen and I just exploded a dozen burned eggs and ruined a pan. The water had to have run out after a few minutes. eek
Re: Monday Mourning - 01/28/13 06:19 PM
Hi ya Mag wave
Ana, I did that.....once!puppy
Re: Monday Mourning - 01/28/13 06:40 PM
To add insult to injury I filled the pan up with water to unstick the eggs and put the pan on the stove to sit and soak and just went in there to fix lunch and I never turned the burner off. Time to hide...
Uh oh, time to go back to bed and try the other side. Hugs to you!
Re: Monday Mourning - 01/28/13 08:21 PM
Ana,Ana look on the bright side................The rest of the week will be better. It's going to be tough cleaning up though. And you could use your time better. Once in a fit of rage I threw a jar of applesauce at my then husband and somehow most of it landed on the cieling and I didn't clean it up. When we sold the house I had to scrape off dried a'sauce from the cieling -most difficult.
Thanks L4L -I will order some pills although that 92$ deal looks good. The turmeric, for me, is quite beneficial as it relieves a lot of pain in about 1/2 hour. I sprinkle the spice from the grocery store over cottage cheese each AM and if I can't take the flavor I drizzle a bit of organic honey on it. My daughter says there are turmeric pills too which she takes. Sure beats pain meds and aspirin. George Noory from coasttocoastam advocates turmeric.
Oh yes on google -some people make a paste of honey and turmeric and take it that way. that would taste good
Re: Monday Mourning - 01/28/13 09:00 PM
Hi to all my GB friends!
L4L, I ordered the cherry capsules to try and see if it helps my sciatica. I hope so!
Came down with bronchitis yesterday and am feeling very bad. Coughing my head off and now have a bad headache.
We've been having lots of rain the past 3 days. Nothing today so far, but they're predicting it for tomorrow again.
My 4 cats are all piling on top of me for warmth. If I get up, they scold me.
I'm reading the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison when I feel like reading. I think the temps are in the low to mid 60s. I know for a lot of you that's like summer. But not here!
Take care everyone, and stay warm! Off to get a cup of tea...... cat
Re: Monday Mourning - 01/28/13 09:14 PM
OK Ana, you have officially used up your year's supply of 'senior moments'. I so empathasize with you on forgetting food on the burner. Oh! My latest was some nice shrimp which I left burning and only noticed when the smoke alarm went off. Ruined about 10 bucks of shrimp, but luckily the pan (awesome) wasn't hurt at all. Lucky me. I am now picturing a dozen eggs exploding like little grenades all over your kitchen. Wow! scared
Thanks Ana, I'm feeling better today. I just wish the rain would stop (at least it isn't snow).
Re: Monday Mourning - 01/28/13 09:40 PM
I am so sorry but I laughed so hard that I have forgotten what I read. rotfl
Poor Ana. I hope that you can get it all cleaned up. eek Love the shoes so thanks for the link. Maybe if you put the shoe on and then tape one toe to the other it might work. duh Good luck and have fun!!
Hope that everybody is having a wonderful day! We are melting. It snowed last night so the temp stayed above zero and we are at a lovely ++++32. The down side of that is we could get freezing rain later.
Gail and Space glad you are both feeling better today!! HUGS and prayers continue.
Opps....better go as I am being stared at. lol
