"What sort of trouble?"

"Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away."

"Went away?"

"They disappeared."

"Hmm. So what does your screen look like now?"

"Nothing."

"Nothing?"

"It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type."

"Are you still in Word Perfect, or did you get out?"

"How do I tell?"

"Can you see the C: prompt on the screen?"

"What's a sea-prompt?"

"Never mind. Can you move the cursor around on the screen?"

"There isn't any cursor: I told you, it won't accept anything I type!"

"Does your monitor have a power indicator?"

"What's a monitor?"

"It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV.

"Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?"

"I don't know."

"Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that?"

"Yes, I think so."

"Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall."

".......Yes, it is."

"When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one?"

"No."

"Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable."

"Okay, here it is."

"Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into the back of your computer."

"I can't reach."

"Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is?"

"No."

"Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over?"

"Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle-it's because it's dark."

"Dark?"

"Yes-the office light is off, and the only light I have is coming in from the window."

"Well, turn on the office light then."

"I can't."

"No? Why not?"

"Because there's a power outage."

"A power... A power outage? Aha, Okay, we've got it licked now. Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in?"

"Well, yes, I keep them in the closet."

"Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from."

"Really? Is it that bad?"

"Yes, I'm afraid it is."

"Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them?"

"Tell them you're too stupid to own a computer."

We have a dark rainy morning going on. I'd be excited if we got about 10" of rain, but I think we're only going to be allowed less than an inch on this visit of the Rainman.

Good morning boomies! I shut off my alarm and my backup alarm this morning. I decided to get a full 8 hours.

I will be running the dogs sometime today, they need it as much as I do. The rest of the day will be working.

And yet another perfect weather day here. Off to get rubber gloves to pick up the 'remains' of a bird that one of the ferals left for me on my deck. How nice of them. Yukky!

Finally figured out why my hand was swollen. Was doing something yesterday and managed to pull a muscle just at the thumb/wrist joint and then remembered doing that (but worse) a day before the swelling. Aha! Swelling is going down, thumb area hurts but at least I know what it is. Also managed to pull a back him muscle this morning bending over to pick up a dropped Kleenex. So dumb. Now I have to find the ice pack and take some pain stuff so I can function until it decides to ease up. How easy it is to hurt yourself! Gonna wrap myself in bubble wrap and bounce around with no more ouchies.

We are having a spitty rain day. Good day to stay inside. Son headed out to work as I got up. I am junky junky junky and sound like the walking dead but don't feel as bad as I sound as long as I'm sitting still. Now that's a run on sentence.

anyone want a snow storm? we got one coming in this weekend and its suppose to be kind of nasty.i know i sure don't want it. will be having my 15yr granddaughter tonight(one thats been so sick) worried about having since we got this pending storm moving in tonight and tomorrow. but i don't want to disappoint her since its been a long time she has been over. sun is trying to peak out from some clouds . hope everyone has a great day and even better weekend

Thanks for all the hugs. I have to go everyday except Sat and Sun for treatments. I have no trouble tolerating them. Chemo was horrible but I don't mind the Radiation treatments at all.

L4L, that was a perfectly good sentence. It was long but totally understandable. I once wrote an entire short story in ONE sentence. I was fun to do, just not fun to read out loud since breathing wasn't an option.

Hello everyone. I survived another work week, and on second thought is was rather short given my shaky start to the week last Sunday .. oh my but don't want to repeat that any time in the near or distant future.


The weekend has arrived and I am looking forward to it and time with WOM!!
