Just stopping in for a minute to say "hi" to everybody. Gotta go fix some lunch.

Didn't get any trick or treaters last night. Drizzling some. I think we got about an inch of rain. Sure could have used more.

Can't believe it's already November! Where has the year gone?

Trick or Treaters were few last night. I go 'dark' as did many of the neighbors, but promptly at 6:30 pm, FIFTY (not kidding I counted) kids and adults descended enmasse. They all walked together down the side street and then fanned out onto mine. It really looked like they had all come on a bus and then just went back to it. Weird. Usually it's van loads of 6-10 that drive and park, etc. Strange night. After that, there were a few small groups and it was all over by 8pm.

Only 'damage' was my mailbox was open. Someone has been 'inspecting' our mailboxes for the past few weeks. I'm careful to take mine out the minute it is delivered. Hope the wanna be thief wasn't disappointed when they found it empty.

Wow, I can't believe Thanksgiving is almost here. I gotta start planning.

So, son has the flu....and yet, the kids are still here for the weekend. I would never ever have taken my kids to a house with the flu

So will be leaving in a few to go pick up Perrin.

On the plus side, it is a beautiful day out there...rained this morning but now we have blue sky and bright sunshine.

We had about 20 trick-or-treaters last night....mostly young and mostly in costume.

I'm giving Keoki a "day off" from walking. He was limping a bit yesterday and holding weight off that leg so today we will rest it and see.

Good afternoon boomies! Still doing chores but managed to run the dogs at the river and then bathed them so they are clean for sisters arrival. I am expecting my Indiana sister within the hour. She is racing with me tomorrow so I am excited!

Sorry I haven't been here much this week, it's been crazy trying to cram in everything I have had piling up on me. I feel very accomplished now.

Well here's a first:

Finally decided NOT to give a rent increase for my older tenants. Lots of thinking and planning and agonizing on that one since I do a small one each year and usually send the letter the day after Halloween.

Went down in person for a change and gave them a water leak detector for the water heater cabinet and then handed the letter to the mom and briefly said, "You won't be getting a rent increase for 2014."

So she grabbed me, and hugged me and kissed me and...you get the picture. Ah, the joys of making someone happy. Felt good to do that for them since they do take care of things pretty well, and are pretty good tenants except for minor 'incidents'.

I could have recouped the money I spent fixing the sewer pump that they ruined with 'baby wipes' after being told never to put things in there like that.

Instead, I decided to be nice and hope that Karma will look kindly on me for the coming year. I sure could use some GOOD Karma!

Hi guys. Oh my goodness. I think I missed my BB pancakes again. It's been a crazy morning. I never had time to stop in to say hello. It'll be the same way tomorrow morning. My boss called me and asked if I'd work in the morning as she had to do some shifting of care givers as my favorite one is under the weather. I really hope she's OK for tomorrow night. We both are working for the Blisses. They are having a dinner party and it would be so much work if it's just me that shows up there. I was supposed to have tomorrow morning off. Oh well. I can use the money.
