Monday Mourning - 03/24/14 01:07 AM

Dying is a very dull, dreary affair. And my advice to you is to have nothing whatever to do with it.
W. Somerset Maugham (1874 - 1965)
~~~~~~~~~~~
You know you've joined a pretty cheap health plan when...
Pedal-powered dialysis machines.
Use of antibiotics deemed an "unauthorized experimental procedure."
Head-wound victim in the waiting room is on the last chapter of "War and Peace."
You ask for Viagra. You get a Popsicle stick and duct tape.
Annual breast exam conducted at Hooters.
Exam room has a tip jar.
You swear you saw salad tongs and a crab fork on the instrument tray just before the anesthesia kicked in.
"Will you be paying in eggs or pelts?"
Tight budget prevents acquisition of separate rectal thermometers.
"Take two leeches and call me in the morning."
The company logo features a hand squeezing a bleeding turnip.
Tongue depressors taste faintly of Fudgesicle.
Covered post-natal care consists of leaving your baby on Mia Farrow's doorstep.
Radiation treatment for cancer patients requires them to walk around with a postcard from Chernobyl in their pocket.
"Pre-natal vitamin" prescription is a box of Tic-Tacs.
Chief Surgeon graduated from University of Benihana.
Directions to your doctor's office include, "take a left when you enter the trailer park."
Doctor listens to your heart through a paper towel tube.
Only item listed under Preventive Care feature of coverage is "an apple a day."
Only participating Physicians are Dr. Fine, Dr. Howard, Dr. Fine.
Only proctologist in the plan is "Gus" from Roto-Rooter.
Plan covers only "group" gynecological exams.
To avoid a time consuming and expensive throat culture, the doctor just French kisses you.
Recycled bandages
You can get your flu shot as soon as the hypodermic needle is dry.
Your "primary care physician" is wearing the pants you gave to goodwill last month.
24-hour claims line is 1-800-TUF-LUCK
Costly MRI equipment efficiently replaced by an oversized 2-sided copier.
Enema? The lavatory faucet swivels to face upward.
Re: Monday Mourning - 03/24/14 05:10 PM
Magnificent Monday ya'll lab
It's been an absolutely crazy day here...phone rings....in the middle of that conversation, someone else calls, but when I flash over, nada, nobody there. Try to call back the person who was trying to beep in, nobody answers. It's been happening all morning. Some days I just want to unplug the phone.
Missy Seagy is obviously not feeling well today. She lies in one spot for a few minutes, gets up, moves to a new one, rinse and repeat. She also does not like the boys today...poor Sky can't get near her without earning teeth.
I'm afraid to put Seagy up in the bedroom in case she get sick up there. Maybe I should add some Irish to my coffee lol It wouldn't make Seagy feel better, but it might calm me down a bit...just kidding.
Ana, luck on getting your bike. You'll have to post a picture for us.
It's gotten cold here today. I'm waiting on AU to call me back, so most likely won't get out for a walk today. It's usually quite late when they call, but you know if I leave, they will call 30 seconds after I leave the house.
I was up way too late last night finishing my book. Now have to wait for the next installment to be released. Will have to browse for a new one. Son is always telling me I need to read this book or that book, so perhaps I will start on his list.
Re: Monday Mourning - 03/24/14 05:24 PM
Overcast again this morning. Warmish, but dreary. I'm assuming the sun will come out soon, but for now, it's oh so sleepy time. Hated to get up.
All outdoorsies fed and accounted for. Interloper (light gray striped male) happilly lounging on my front porch swing waiting for his turn at the food dish. He does not play well with others, but they do leave him some of the wet food so I guess they don't hate him.
Last night the baby raccoons returned. It's a pair. They are both about half grown. No longer fluff balls, but lean, tall, juveniles. They stood side by side daintily taking small handfuls of dry food from the dish. Beautiful but I don't mix with them at all. I stay strictly away.
Someone (a possum or raccoon has taken to digging around all my yard sidewalks and stepping stones looking for grubs. This is the time of year the scarab beetles are huge larvae. Good eats for those who can dig the best. Unfortunately, I have to sweep the dirt off all the surfaces after they get done hunting. All nice and neat and clean now, but wait until tonight.
Solar powered security lights working fantastically in my shed and near the back fence. Perfect. No electricity there so I could never have the proper light. Now I open the shed and tada...let there be light. Awesome!
Off to do absolutely nothing today. Feeling lazy and out of money anyway. Gonna keep eating up and tossing all my food stash. Freezer is empty except for ice cubes and butter. Fridge has flour, cereal, milk, and misc. condiments. Cupboard still has some soup and other canned stuff. Time for a clean start to all the food items. Going shopping when my paycheck comes in. New stuff yummmmm.
