I have not been able to figure out how to "watch" a topic in the forums or to get a notification of new posts or replies to my posts. Are there ways to do these things and if so can someone guide me through this darkness of mine? TIA

On top of the threads you should see a Topic Options button. Click on it and select Add topics to your watched topics list.

Some sites have an actual button at the top of the page which says "Follow this thread."
