Monday Sunshine - 04/07/14 04:31 AM

Rest is the sweet sauce of labor.
Plutarch (46 AD - 120 AD)

I'm swimming in that sauce all week. wink

Golf Caddy Comments
Golfer: "Think I'm going to drown myself in the lake."
Caddy: "Think you can keep your head down that long?"

Golfer: "I'd move heaven and earth to break 100 on this course."
Caddy: "Try heaven, you've already moved most of the earth."

Golfer: "Do you think my game is improving?"
Caddy: "Yes sir, you miss the ball much closer now."

Golfer: "Do you think I can get there with a 5 iron?"
Caddy: "Eventually."

Golfer: "You've got to be the worst caddy in the world."
Caddy: "I don't think so sir. That would be too much of a coincidence."

Golfer: "Please stop checking your watch all the time. It's too much of a distraction."
Caddy: "It's not a watch - it's a compass."

Golfer: "How do you like my game?"
Caddy: "Very good sir, but personally, I prefer golf."

Golfer: "Do you think it's a sin to play on Sunday?
Caddy: "The way you play, sir, it's a sin on any day."

Golfer: "This is the worst course I've ever played on."
Caddy: "This isn't the golf course. We left that an hour ago."

Golfer: "That can't be my ball, it's too old."
Caddy: "It's been a long time since we teed off, sir."

Who would have thought the economy would get this bad...

CEO's are now playing miniature golf.

Jewish women are marrying for love.

Even people who have nothing to do with the Obama administration aren't paying their taxes.

Hotwheels and Matchbox stocks are trading higher than GM.

Obama met with small businesses to discuss the Stimulus Package: GE, Pfizer and Citigroup.

Parents in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and learned their children's names.

A great email to forward to friends...

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.

He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.

When he was standing before it, he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold.

He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side.

When he was close enough, he called out, 'Excuse me, where are we?'

'This is Heaven, sir,' the man answered.

'Wow! Would you happen to have some water?' the man asked.

'Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up.'

The man gestured, and the gate began to open. 'Can my friend,' gesturing toward his dog, 'come in, too?' the traveler asked.

'I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets.'

The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.

After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.

'Excuse me!' he called to the man. 'Do you have any water?'

'Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in.'

'How about my friend here?' the traveler gestured to the dog.

'There should be a bowl by the pump,' said the man.

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it. The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.

When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree. 'What do you call this place?' the traveler asked.

'This is Heaven,' he answered.

'Well, that's confusing,' the traveler said.

'The man down the road said that was Heaven, too.'

'Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's Hell.'

'Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?'

'No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind.'

Soooo. Now you see. Sometimes, we wonder why friends keep forwarding stuff to us without writing a word. Maybe this will explain it.

When you are very busy, but still want to keep in touch, guess what you do? You forward emails.

When you have nothing to say, but still want to keep contact, you forward jokes.

When you have something to say, but don't know what, and don't know how - you forward stuff.
A 'forward' lets you know that you are still remembered, you are still important, you are still cared for.
So, next time if you get a 'forward', don't think that you've been sent just another forwarded joke, but that you've been thought of today and your friend on the other end of your computer wanted to send you a smile.

You are welcome at my water bowl anytime!

Good morning Boomers.

Gloomy morning here but at least it is not cold. 50's today.

Well we are going to try it again today. Eye laser surgery at 4 p.m. Hope they don't cancel it again. Would like to get it done and hope for good results. Dr. wants eye pressure at least 13 or lower.

Not much going on today. Got two books going on my Kindle. James Patterson's "The 12th of Never" and Dean Koontz, the first Frankenstein book. Not sure how I like that one.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Re: Monday Sunshine - 04/07/14 04:42 PM

It's supposed to be almost NINETY today here at the coast. I don't believe them. So far it's very comfy and about 70. Time will tell.

All Outdoorsies (including the interloper gray striped male) have had breakfast and I'm done for the day. Ah except for a constant feeding of the old gal, Spot, who happily is gaining some weight, AND is jumping up on the table much more easily. Maybe the extra food that she likes is doing the trick. I will feed her as much as she wants and see what happens. Gotta go shopping and get more! She's hogging it all.

Computer still acting weird, but better. Yesterday I was working with my Excel program and it kept freezing the computer and restarting it (error etc). It's done that for a long time. So I tried to fix it, reload it, etc. Got frustrated and finally just deleted the whole thing. But...for some reason I can still work with the spreadsheets! What gives? Do I have TWO Excel programs and don't know it? I'm going to be a detective today and figure this out.

Off to detect.

Magnificent Monday ya'll lab

Grey, rainy, windy day here. Many thunder storms this morning so I cuddled in the bed with the doggies til the storms passed. Then up to work on dog jerky and smoothie ingredients and get the dishwasher going and dogs fed.

Now time to sit for sec before I go run errands.

I was hoping to get a walk in today, but that won't happen unless the rain and wind stop.

Joe, luck hunting!

Hi boomies. Been a long day. I had a split shift today. Been awhile since I worked a split shift but I feel good. I guess I'm recovered from by experience with Vertigo. Good to be back. I have another split shift tomorrow. Between them I have a follow up appointment with my doctor. It was cancelled today. But I'm feeling a lot better. I hope you all had a great day. Bets, sending a prayer that your surgery happens on the rescheduled appointment.

Going to bed now. See you in the AM.
