Tuesday's ADO - 07/08/14 04:20 AM

People don't believe what you tell them.
They rarely believe what you show them.
They often believe what their friends tell them.
They always believe what they tell themselves.

Re: Tuesday's ADO - 07/08/14 05:32 PM

Wow Joe! Three cups of coffee and I'd be running around the neighborhood naked. evil

Ants on my computer desk. Its' that time of year. Always happens. If I could find the stupid 'home' of those ants, I'd kill them all at the source. For now, all I can do is spray around the desk. They are coming UP through my hardwood floor on my 1944 house. You can guess how great the floors are. Id' move the desk and spray all over, but it's a HUGE, heavy Winner's Only Oak computer desk. I don't think I could even budge it.

Temps around here a bit better. Still in the high 70's but humidity is 58-60 percent and it feels uncomfortable since I'm totally spoiled.

Penelope is late today again. I'm sure she will be here. Loves dried cherries. And the raccoon mom and 2 babies were here last night. Made a mess of the food table and the water dish, but they are sooooo cute. Babies are about the size of a small poodle. Cute cute cute. And as an added bonus, they climb in the trees and break off small dead branches saving me the trouble of 'culling'. Nice. Nature in sync.

Terrific Tuesday y'all puppy

Hubby and I popped up before the sun to take the doggies walking. It was already 75 out there, but since the sun wasn't up, it wasn't too bad. We had a nice walk, then came home and hubby went to work and the dogs and I went back to bed. happydance

Joe, whose baby is terrorizing your Baby?

Haroula, wave

Gerry, thanks for the coffee.

Connie, have a great day!

Gail, thanks for the cool day...we need it.

Happy skooshing, Darlene wave

Oh, a high of 69...I am jealous, Nan, though I know I won't be this winter.

Ana, hope the corner is fun.

Sorta, raccoon babies the size of a poodle? That sounds big. puppy

Re: Tuesday's ADO - 07/08/14 10:49 PM

Gosh, it's hot today but still better than winter -I always say that.

2 nights ago while playing killzone 4 I looked down my short hall and who should there be with a high steppen' stroll and nose up in the air but my 1/2 grown opossum. I believe she's a she because her face is cute so I'll be calling her Smooch. And she took a sharp right into my bedroom, no food, then out and a sharp left into the little bedroom and again no food then nonplussed scanned the kitchen in which room big mamuu (I} had left her nightly ration. And then out the back door for nightly adventures. I'm becoming most fond of her. So far her diet is fancy feast cat food, wet and dry, but there must be more stuff she would like.

Every day I play 1 or 2 solitaire and today the game was so exciting that I fell asleep. And that's a 1st.

Happy July 8th all

Re: Tuesday's ADO - 07/08/14 11:47 PM

Yup L4L, the babies are huge fluffy balls of fur. Tails about 14 inches long now. Mom is twice the size. All nice and healthy looking and bright eyed.

Oh Yankee! My possums eat dry friskies and love it. They occasionally would eat the leftover wet food on the table, but love the dry stuff. I usually get the fish flavor. Haven't seen any babies lately. Not a good year for the little ones. Usually one of the babies comes back to have babies of their own. I'm thinking they didn't 'make it' this year. Only saw little ones once months ago and then they were gone. Maybe the gene pool is getting shallow.

Neighbor across went on a short vacation over the 4th weekend. They are originally from Texas. Now there is an older, walker bound woman living there with them. She was in 'day care' with the local hospital and got dropped off today. I'm thinking they brought Grandma home to live with them. The wife there is a nurse, so it might be a new 'job' for her now that Medicare pays you to take care of your own relatives in home to save the expense of nursing homes. If she's seen more than a few weeks, I think we have a new neighbor.

No Penelope today yet. Maybe tonight. She's spending more time elsewhere and changing her schedule. Maybe they have better food or more bugs in the plants. rotfl

Space, stay dry.

Yankee and Sorta, you guys have noble souls. thumbsup

I had to laugh at one of the squirrels in our back yard. Hubby put food out in a little wire basket that snapped shut. The squirrels figured out how to open it and took the entire pad of seeds.

Re: Tuesday's ADO - 07/09/14 01:34 AM

Hey everybody. wave

I had a pretty good day off. I spent most of it putting a cabinet together and hanging it in the laundry room. smile

It looks great. yes

At least being off today broke up my six day stretch. yay

I didn't feel like stretching. razz

I also cut my hair today, so it feels a LOT better in this heat. penguin

I'm ready to make an early night of it, after I get another diner going.

I work from 10 to 6 the next three days I think.

L4L the baby here now is my niece's daughter, my sister's granddaughter. Two new additions to our happy household. slapforehead

This is the cutest baby, but she throws some mighty temper tantrums. hardwall

Have a good night everybody.
