Sip & Surf Sunday - 07/27/14 05:57 AM

So we went to Atari and said, 'Hey, we've got this amazing thing, even built with some of your parts, and what do you think about funding us? Or we'll give it to you. We just want to do it. Pay our salary, we'll come work for you.' And they said, 'No.' So then we went to Hewlett-Packard, and they said, 'Hey, we don't need you. You haven't got through college yet.'

Re: Sip & Surf Sunday - 07/27/14 05:57 PM

Overcast again. Humid like crazy. Managed to drop a tiny bit of rain for about 30 seconds. Now it's just humid again. Ugh.

No Penelope yet today. Last night at 6:30 she took a 'field trip'. She jumped off my front porch roof, jumped over the fence and casually walked across the 3 lane (very wide) road to the other side (probably a joke in there somewhere). So she examined the neighbor's yard, walked up the block past the corner house and when they spotted her, she went behind their car at the curb and casually walked back across the road. She managed to get honked at by a car (she was already past the traffic lane) and unfazed, she ambled up my driveway again. Weird bird. So weird.

New computer and printer are working well. Printer is easier to understand, but I'm still looking for an instruction book. Gotta find out what it does and how. Amazing they sell stuff without instructions anymore. They are ALL like that. They want you to go on-line to look it up. Paper saving.

Cleaning out all my old computer stuff. Got 2 huge boxes so far of cords and modems, and mice, and 'things'. Letting my computer friend go through it before I donate it to the thrift store. Eventually they will get 3 printers and 2 working (but ancient) computers. Have to glean my software today too. Stuff is too old to run on the new computer and it's all replaceable. NOT giving away any games though. Nope nope nope.

Off to get my ladder and do the very last of the zip tying of security camera cords to make it all neat and tidy outside. Planning to sweat a lot with the humidity. Yuk.

Hi all. I just got up from a nap. I got up at 5:30 this morning before going to work from 8 to 11 so I was ready for a nap when I got home. I feel better now. Work again at 5 to 8 tonight. This is my schedule for the next three days. Sorta you can go online at dell.com and look up your model # and it will give you instructions, I think. I also have a new Dell. I'm also learning it.

Re: Sip & Surf Sunday - 07/28/14 12:11 AM

Just back from eating my favorite Carne Asada Nachos with all the fixin's. Ohhhh heaven! Haven't had them for weeeeks. Yummy.

Trying out a new keyboard. I found out there is such a thing as a 'mechanical' keyboard. Had no idea the one I'd used since 1978 was 'mechanical' and typing on it is just my thing. The new ones are something with a 'pad' underneath and are a 'short stroke'. Hate that. Can't type without making mega mistakes. Now I know why. Difference between playing a keyboard (musical) and an organ and a piano. Different touch to the fingers on each. Piano, not so good, keyboard nice, organ good also. Now I have to see if the mechanical keyboard will go with my new computer. I think it will just fine. I 'accidentally' bought one at the thrift store for 3 bucks and found out it's perfect and retails for about 50 bucks. Good deal. Little did I know the 'fine points' of keyboards.

Hate HUMID!
