TGIF - 09/19/14 03:51 AM

A boy can learn a lot from a dog: obedience, loyalty, and the importance of turning around three times before lying down.

BOY SCOUTS VISIT US MILITARY

This is an exact replication of a National Public Radio interview between a female broadcaster and US Army General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?
GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.
INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?
GENERAL: I don't see why. They'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.
INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?
GENERAL: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle
discipline before they even touch a firearm.
INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers.
GENERAL: Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

THE RULES OF CHOCOLATE

If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.

Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices & strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.

The problem: How to get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car. The solution is simple: Eat it in the parking lot.

Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite, and you'll eat less.

If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.

If I eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate, is that a balanced diet? Don't they actually counteract each other?

Money talks. Chocolate sings. Beautifully.

Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.

Q. Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous? A. Because no one wants to quit.

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.

A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Isn't that handy?

If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you?

Have a great Friday, Ana.

Enjoy your day, Haroula.

Thanks for the coffee, Gerry.

Thanks for the delicious food, Connie.

Well, if the following weeks are like this week, I'm going to end up working very long days and having very long weekends. lol I have the next four days off, which would have been unheard of at my previous store. Now I've just got to figure out what I'm going to do with all that time. lol Today, I will definitely practice singing and maybe (okay, definitely grin) play a game. Perhaps I'll see if my friend wants to do something over the weekend. thumbsup

As for now, I'm off to find some breakfast. Have a terrific Friday, everyone. summer

Re: TGIF - 09/19/14 04:36 PM

Yea Joe, it's always sad when time moves on but not out feelings like when I gave my S-10 to the local mechanic. I had that little truck 20 years -it took me to work nights, it hauled grain and hay, it bailed out my son when he needed a truck andandand......It will soon be a year but I still miss it. But life goes on, you will like your new home. What will happen to the kitties?

On a lighter note........my radio arrived!!!! The quiet was nice but so's the noise, I even listened to "The San Antonio Stroll" good music although I prefer classical. Posting now so it can have a rest.

We've had rain for days and days now and it's so green and you can just taste the oxygen -uuuhm good. Cats go out and come in all spikey haired and then they wash and wash and sleep and sleep. Groceries tomorrow, must make a list and menu

Re: TGIF - 09/19/14 06:58 PM

Hiya everyone.

It's Lyric day. Everything is ready for her. Just waiting for the phone call to say, "come and get her". Went to Petsmart and bought her a pretty turquoise collar. Have to get a name tag. If she has not been chipped, will see to that later.

Took Winston for a walk, then after lunch we took Winston and Cory. Will take Lyric by herself later today.

Well, I'm gonna play for a while to help pass the time.

Have a good day everyone.
