what are all those beatiful screen shots microsoft keeps onsending you

I never get any from them. Are you sure it's from Microsoft? Sounds strange to me. Curious if others get them too.

When you say they are "sent," do you mean in an email? Or are you talking about the pictures that change daily with the Bing homepage?

They are pictures when you open your computer.

I'm still not sure what you are seeing? When I first start up my computer, my desktop is the picture I have set it to which is a Halloween picture from Ryan Bliss at Digital Blasphemy. I don't have anything from Microsoft.

I'm still wondering if you mean when you go to the internet you are using Bing as your homepage. I do and today it is a spooky picture that looks like a claw shadow.

I think they are screensavers,when you open the p.c
and when you put it to sleep and open again.
Every time is a different landcape.
Not as a homepage.
They appear when I write my password.

Boy, I have Windows 10 and I have no idea what this is! But I suspect you have a desktop background theme chosen as you could in Window 7 and Windows 8.1. There are TONS of them available. If you go to Start, Settings, Personalization and then Themes, there several default one available. If you click on Get More Themes Online, there are hundreds of other ones.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help. My husband has Win 10 and he doesn't have anything like that happening.

dianne, this really doesn't sound like something good. Especially if you get it when you boot up your computer. Windows 10 does not do this and I don't have any idea of who "they" could be. It sounds more like malware than anything else. I would strongly suggest you run a scan with the free version of Malwarebytes. If you don't have it, you can get it here - make sure you download the free version.

I have windows 10 and I get nothing like that... Interesting... Maybe you got a app on there somehow that is doing that to your start up page..

I hope dianne runs Malwarebytes and doesn't find anything too. But whatever this is, it is not from Microsoft and sounds pretty suspect. Screensavers and desktop pictures are one of the biggest ways of delivering malware to your computer. I always use the results for a search for "screensavers" to demonstrate how WOT (Web of Trust) works. It puts red, yellow or green circles by search results. Nearly every screensaver website has a red circle by it indicating it is not a safe place to go.

Whew! Thanks for that link to malwarebytes. I'd lost it when I got my new computer. It detected 214 possible threats. Love that program. The other one I was using just kept saying no threats found. I knew that couldn't be right. Now to see what runs better and if those pesky emails stop.

Probably won't stop the pesky emails, but hopefully it got rid of a bunch of tracking junk. It never hurts to run it a second time either. I always do at least 2 passes and sometimes 3 if the infection is bad.

This is definitely a new feature of Windows 10, not malware. Windows 10 has a new look to the log in screen. The pictures are very beautiful and Microsoft will ask if you like what you see. If so, you get more. There are ways to change the log in screen as noted HERE

I hope that's the case, Sherlock. I know Windows 8.1 and 10 have beautiful backgrounds and themes - I use them all the time - but the way they were being described was very suspicious. I've installed and upgraded numerous computers to Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 and none of them have anything like was being described. As I pointed out in an earlier post, you can change all this in your Settings and Personalization screens.

I believe that THESE are some of the images that Haroula was referring to. The lock screen on Windows 10 randomly shows these images and will ask you if you like what you see. If your screen isn't locked, perhaps you don't see it. Until I upgraded I hadn't seen any of the images in the link provided, so it's been a nice treat.

Yup, those are them! To get TONS of great themes, just go to Personalization and Themes and Theme Settings and then click on Get More Themes Online... some really cool stuff.
