I have a picture of my family going through that tree back in the 50's. It was fun. If I can find it in my album, I'll try to scan it and post it. It was in our old Studebaker. Ha. Gonna miss that tree. Another Landmark gone.

I just discovered my sister had going through that tree on her "bucket" list. Now she can't ever scratch it off.
Friends of my cousins had planned to take their kids to see it later this year.

Oh no! shocked

When I was quite a bit younger my best friend, who was a recording engineer at the time out in Los Angeles took a few months off from the rat race and traveled all over California, Nevada and Oregon. I've got a bunch of pictures we took of the Sequoias around that area including that one. For as large as they are, they're root structure is proportionately very shallow. Hikers and tourists walking around their bases can cause potential issues. It's actually pretty amazing how long that one managed to stay standing considering what was done to it.
