My question is what about those of us who have cars with remote start and the WHOLE PURPOSE is to let it warm up?

You can use remote start, my village has the same ordinance. It's the keys in the car while unattended is the problem. I have a remote start also and you can use those.

But, I believe the person should have gotten a warning, not a ticket. That's ridiculous!

Interesting that the guy is a 'Michigan Native' but the car has a Texas plate?

Sorta, it's because it is a stock photo and has nothing to do with the story other than being a car in a driveway. sad Journalism at its finest.

It's a bigger waste of taxpayers money and a hazard when officers need to chase down criminals who steal said vehicles. Criminals make it a point to cruise specific areas on cold days to do just that.

I know someone else who was warned for the same thing.

In my neighborhood, it's the cars that completely block the sidewalk by 'tandem parking' in their driveways. And the cars that park across the 'handicapped' ramps along the street. But nobody here ever gets warned or a ticket or towed unless a complaint is made by more than one neighbor, and then it takes several days, marking of the tires, a note on the windshield, and finally up to 2 weeks for the offending vehicle to be removed. Our city just doesn't have the 'manpower' to handle what they told me are MINOR offenses. Too bad since there are several residents who go up and down in wheelchairs and have to go around the vehicles out into the street and back.

I guess it's either too much control or not enough. But a ticket??? Seems a bit obsessive.
