Why did you need tomato paste in a tube? I've always bought it in small cans.

I only use tomato paste in a tube. I have no problem finding it at Whole Foods, Meijers, Roundy's aka Marianos etc.

It's awesome soot. First off, it's healthier because tomatoes and cans do not get along. Second, if you need a tablespoon you can use a tablespoon and literally not have to worry about it going bad for a year in the fridge. If you open a can and don't need it all, it pretty much goes to waste.

Here in Canada you can't find it in a tube......I've been looking for years. When I open a can I freeze the rest in an ice cube tray but would much prefer the tube. If someone knows of anywhere north of the border where you can buy it, online or in store please let me know.
Well scratch the above post. I just found it on Amazon Canada. They never used to carry it.

I use the tube sometimes because freezing what I don't use from the can doesn't seem to work well for me, however, I think the flavor of the canned product is better.

lspace, glad you found it!
oldbroad, different brands taste different. Just like the canned. It tastes more tomatoey and less tinny.
